Re: slick tricks
I was thinking about trying the new ST's, but my 125's fly pretty good with a 2219 XX75. Is there anything to be gained by adding 50 gr more up front. I'm shooting the 2219's with aluminum inserts and 125 gr Slick Tricks. Excalibur Exocet 200, FFF string. I would like to try a BOO string though, I h...

Moon Transit
O.K, I'm kinda new to this moon phase stuff . So I should be in my stand 3 hours prior to the moon transit ? This is the major feeding period 4:20 AM to 7:20AM(moon transit) for this morning in my area. So the deer are up feeding at around 4:20 and should bed or be moving to bedding areas by 7:20 , ...

Bob 1961, So you are saying you have 285 grains up front? With a total weight of 550, at 290 fps, WOW! Thats fast, and putting out some serious kinetic energy. I never weighed my bolts or have shot them through a cronograph. I imagine that quieted the bow down a good bit. Does the STS make a notable...

Well, from what I have heard on this forum that most guys shoot the GT Laser II's with the brass inserts up front to get better arrow flight, better accuracy, and more penetration. I tried the GT II without the brass inserts and the 100 grain points and they were OK, but went to the heavier 2219's a...

FOC for 2219 Excalibur bolts ?
I've been shooting the easton 2219's ,5" fletch, with 125 grain Slick Tricks. I was wondering if I would get better performance with a heavier broadhead. Would a 150 gr Broadhead make a difference or should I go heavier possibly to a 175 ? Or should I go with brass inserts ? I was considering t...

Crossbows in PA
I hope they at least give it a chance this year before jumping to conclusions. I've stated my case for allowing crossbows in PA archery for a couple years now. I've even got on the Bowsite.com PA forum and given my vote for full inclusion during archery season. I've been a bowhunter for years and I ...

Reasonably priced spring bear hunts?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a guide or outfitter in Canada that offers a good bear hunt for under $1000? I've been going up for a couple years now and the price 5 years ago used to be $975 per hunter has gradually climbed to Nearly $2000. I know fuel prices helped to increase the price. I wou...

Scopes
Scopes with magnification will probably be allowed. I just was on the Bowsite PA Forum and have stated my case for crossbows, and how effective they are. Most guys on that forum call them crossguns and many are still angry that PA has allowed full inclusion of crossbows in our archery season. I just...

STS
Does the STS system make a big difference in noise reduction? Did you have to cut the rods to get them the right length? I ordered one last year and discovered that they were'nt adjustable and I would have to twist my string up till the brace hight was at or on the near side of the first line on the...

Bear Hunting over bait.
I hear critsism all the time for my opinion to legalize a full inclusion in PA's archery season most people of which have never shot a crossbow or seen it's effectiveness on game. My arguement for crossbows being allowed is I would much rather see a hunter go out with a crossbow and kill a deer and ...

Anyone Going Bear Hunting this Spring?
Just wanted to see how many of you guys are going bear hunting this year? I'll be going back up to Taggart Bay Lodge in June. I'll Take my Exocet again , Maybe I'll hold out for a Big one this time. I shot a decent Bear up there 2 years ago. Maybe 180 lbs or so . I take quite the ribbing from my bud...

Greywolf, Where did you get those rubber sound suppressers and how can I get some? That looks AWESOME! Predator camo is probably the best camo out there. I have seen other crossbows such as the horton recurves and I was thinking about how to put some on my exocet 200. I would need the brackets and t...

Unstring Your Excal When not in use?
I was just wondering how many of you guys unstring your Excals when hunting season is over. I know that it is recomended by Excalibur to let the limbs relax. Is it necessary and will you lose speed if you keep it strung all the time?
