Re: Sandy Hook

I'm an assualt style weapon owner with children (older) and this one even shook me. Better mental health treatment would be far more effective than any sort of bans or restrictions. So angry and so vicious. It's just so sad for everyone involved.
Gun sales will be up today, not down.

Vintage "Powermaster" crossbow

On Ebay. I would bid on it but the ball & chain would kill me. The things you find while shopping for others at Christmas. I'm sure it's junk but it looks cool. Don, Dan, Mike, Scott.
Step Up!! :D

Re: Forgot how cool this forum group was...

That's what I mean about the forum!!! Not one negative response. :D I didn't get one " That would have been a nice deer in a couple of years" (I know that). I didn't get one comment about the button buck. ( I know that too". I didn't get one 40 yards!! you should never shoot that far....

Forgot how cool this forum group was...

It was years and years ago that Dan, Mike, Don, Scott and a handful of others found our way here. The old forum we messed around on was mixed archery and all we heard was how unfair it was that we used crossbows. Made "friends" and not just "pals". It's been a good year in the wo...

Re: My first buck ever!

Much to big for a first deer!! :? Yuh gotta start small and work your way up. I think you owe your old lady big time and I would recommend something as cool as that droptine. I hope you drove around in the Pick-up for a few hours with that beast.. So are you done for the year or just pumped for more...

Re: Old bow hunter gonna try the Axiom

The best part about the Excals is that ANY aftermarket parts added are done more for fun and experimentation than anything else. Both my Phoenix and VixenII are just plain killing machines right out of the box. Sure I've tried Boo strings which I like and Crazies custom bolts which shoot great as we...

Re: round 2

Musky.. I would trade you two weeks of gun hunting with an army for two days of bowhunting alone. I still have a buck tag but NO problem filling doe tags if the opportunity presents. No Sunday hunting in KY Musky?? WE should be in the woods today but NO!! It's Sunday. Won't ever change here i...

Re: Whew!! Finally!

Nice job Laura and a heck of a hand cannon. I can see why you don't bother to handload. Some of the ammo out there is as good or better than any you could build. If you have a factory load your gun likes your all set.
Do you ever NOT get your deer? :)

Re: 400 fps?

I stepped back from a Phoenix to a Vixen simply cause it was a little smaller and I wanted a shorter LOP. Based on my testing the Vixen kills them just as dead. I don't plan on shooting over 35 yards on game so it's all the bow I need for deer. Heck, when push comes to shove I should be limiting mys...

Re: I really didnt want to put this on here but it is import

Sad story for all even including the shooter. No flashlight for me during bow season just because I feel safer. I sure better not get shot by an archer or I'm gonna be pissed!! Always carry a light during gun and am still scared Chitless. I know a couple of guys I only hunted with once. One had a mi...

Re: Large Game Hunters!

Gonna hunt moose and elk someday but for now I'm just going to hunt whats here. Hey Ben.... Send one of them 1000 pounders my way. I've spend $40.00 every year for the chance at a state of ME moose permit. Been doing it for close to 20 years and have multiple draws and I am still waiting. Thinking M...

Re: It's all about time.

I'll tell you strum I can pretty much bet on what Don called you and boy we both had it coming. How many deer you got stacked out behind the addition Mikey? I'm sure your doing your part. The Vixen tasted blood Mike and killed that one as quick as the Pheonix and it is a little nicer to carry. Quiet...

It's all about time.

It's all about time. It's been so tough getting in the woods this season. Driving to work on a "choice" day can drive a man or woman crazy. I swear that this deer was MUCH bigger before I took such an awful shot. My stand is in a smallish tree that was waving like a flagpole in a 15mph bre...
