wow, that is extremely sad to hear... condolence's to the family and those poor kids! that is my absolute worst fear as a parent, is having my kids left alone... i feel so bad for them right now... sure hope someone steps up and provides care for them... keep us all posted on how this proceeds pleas...

congrats on the turkey and the bow.. what an awesome story.. good on you guys for doing something so amazing for someone else.. just goes to show there are still some damned good people out there, including the ones on this forum ... hope you put that Vixen to good use this fall and bag a deer..

congrats on a pair of good lookin birds.. shows dedication and grit to stick it out despite bad weather... also a good lesson to us who think it may not be worth going out if the weather looks less than perfect ... good job guys.

thanks so much everyone.. it does feel good to get one down, especially on opening day. i've never harvested a turkey OR deer on opening day before.. and i wanna thank someone too, i don't recall who but someone advised on turkey decoy set ups... i never had any luck with decoys, i've tried so many ...

thanks guys. . sure is a rush to call a big bird like this in.. and he came in on a string and fast!! i have never taken a bird out of the blind before, but i asked around and turkeys are different than deer, they don't bother them unless they see movement inside.. that's why i wore black to hide me...
