Re: Axiom scope

Sorry to hi-jack this thread.

With the axiom scope I'm dead on when using my 150 gr field tips at 20, 30 and 40, but when I us my 150gr bolt cutters I'm dead on at 20, but low at 30 and even lower at 40 yrds. I'm new to crossbow hunting, so what can I to do to bring everything in line?

thanks

Re: An evening to remember

Congrats Dereck! My wife said the same thing to me. With ducks, geese, grouse, rabbit and turkey to hunt in the fall adding deer was a stretch, but I got the approval for one tag this year...better than nothing!

Re: Axiom scope problem

I went out again today and was dead on at 20 yrds, but was about 3-4" low at 30 yrds. At 30 yrds I'm using the the 1st triangle under the crosshairs, and I'm putting the top of the triangle on my target...is this correct or should I be putting the bottom of the triangle on my target? Jimmer I'm...

Re: Axiom scope problem

I found the same thing when sighting in my scope. My first two shot were high, so I adjusted teh scope accordingly and found that they were way low. I based my adjustments on 1/2" per click. After another adjustment it appears to be dialed in. I will be shooting it again today to make sure ever...

Re: Shooting tips

Awshucks - the first day i was using an upside down recycling bin, the second day I used a wooden A-frame stand that we rest our boat trailer on...very sturdy. I think it may have been my positioning while using a rest. I went out thursday and was much happier with my results. I shot standing and kn...

Re: Shooting tips

Scott - I found that while shooting on the rest I was less accurate. I was shooting standing up and kneeling down. Seemed to work just fine.

I'm always doubling checking to make sure my fingers are clear of the rail. I love gross pictures...post'em up!

Re: Shooting tips

Just a little update. I had the bow out today again and was getting 2" groups at 20yrds, which is a huge improvement from 5" groups and inconsistency. I took my time to make sure I was squeezing the trigger and seated comfortably - seemed to work. On a side note has anyone had any issues w...

Re: Shooting tips

Yikes 1 1/2"!! I am using the rope cocking aid so that is out of the question. I'm a newbie when it comes to crossbows - could you explain what a run out is? I think I need to controll my breathing and squeeeeeeeze the trigger as opposed to slapping it. I have been a shotgun hunter for the last...

Shooting tips

I finally got a chance to get out and sight in my crossbow. I've never shot a crossbow before so I did as much research as possible. I set up my target at 20 yrds and had my bow on a rest to provide more stability. After I was dailed in I started shooting, but noticed the arrows were not hitting the...

Axiom Brace Height

I just bought my axiom and I've read the brace height is usually set between 5/8" and 1 5/8", mine is set at 1 5/8". I'm pretty green when it comes to crossbow hunting so I have a couple of questions? 1. Once I shoot the bow 25-30 times will the brace height increase or decrease a sig...

Serving on my Axiom

I just purchased and assembled my Axiom bow and noticed that my serving isn't perfectly centred on the rail. I'm wondering if this is a problem or no big deal at all? I can't wait to get out there and start flinging some arrows.

Thanks in advance

Re: AND THE WINNER IS>>>>

Strum way to add a little more excitment to the board. I just picked up my Axiom and thought I'd check in before I assemble it. Once again good on you and the winner.
