Leupolds and close yardage
I have decided to upgrade to a Leupold ~4X scope and initially was thinking of either the VX3 1.5-5x20mm or the VXR 1.25-4x20mm . At lunchtime today I went to look at those at a local store and found both had the same problem. I shoot 3D only at ranges of between 5 to 55 yards. I noticed at near yar...

A strip of bicycle inner tube. Works as good as a Limbsaver Tentacle Wrap that was on there before though the inner tube is lasting much much longer....

How much elevation in inches does a Twilight DLX Scope have
Does anyone here know how many inches of elevation this scope has at 20 yards (or whatever yardage)? I am assuming that the same number of inches would apply to the windage.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Loose trigger
Here you go.... Looking at the bottom of the crossbow you will see two allen screws, one in the forestock and one directly in front of the trigger (there is an access hole through the trigger guard, at least on my Equinox). Remove both screws. During this procedure remember location of all screws wh...

Re: Trigger tech
Shot my target trigger (1.5 pounds) with gloves on last weekend. They were my friend's insulated hunting gloves. I did this as an experiment and only tried it once. While on target, I put my finger on the trigger and the bow fired. I did not feel the trigger at all. The shot was a TOTAL surprise. :o...

Re: range finder advice
I have the 2013 Nikon Archer’s Choice Rangefinder. It measures from 5-600 yards in 0.1 increments. Can also display metric units. The unit has Angle compensation, Tru Target, and Incline/Decline Technology. The LCD display can be switched from black to red in low light conditions. The rangefinder is...

Re: String stretching and twisting.
Another factor that just came to mind is that there is a measurable speed lose on some new strings (not mine). When a string is settling in there is significant amount of energy wasted on the elastic nature of a string that has not settled in. Don, Your remark of "elastic nature of a string th...

More weight in the butt end of the stock to make the bow balanced instead of front end heavy.

Serving tip??????
As Barry told me, I increased the length of the starting tail last night to go the entire length of the finished serving. As usual, I set the serving tool so tight that it barely lets the spool rotate when the tool pulls the serving material out. With this being the case, no matter what I tried, thi...

Re: Rear inserts for Firebolts arrows, packaged by Excalibur
When Barry and I were talking I told him how my bow, an Equinox, goes through servings due to the practicing and tournaments. Though my serving technique has improved thanks to suggestions from Boo, increasing the servings life substantially, I still want to experiment to get it to last longer. I ha...

Rear inserts for Firebolts arrows, packaged by Excalibur
Last weekend I discovered that Excalibur sells a 6 pack of rear inserts for their Firebolts arrows. This has to be the best-kept secrets by Excalibur. My rear inserts get dinged up badly due to practicing and 3D tournaments. The wonderful thing about these are, replacing a damaged rear insert gets y...

Re: Excalibur Bag Target?
I bought the bag target yesterday and it is not working out. I am shooting 360 grain arrows with my Equinox and getting mid 340's fps. Shot three arrows, one at twenty yards, one at thirty and the last at forty. The twenty yard shot was almost a pass through, destroyed the fletching getting it out. ...
