Re: does anybody use SpyderWeb targets?
Yes I've got the 1.5 portable 18x18x10. I've had it since April and put hundreds of shots in it. I shoot a tenpoint carbon fusion and a Excalibur vortex into it. I feel it's holding up excellent but still need more time to evaluate better. The arrow penetrates between 1/3 - 1/2 the 20 inch shaft at ...

Re: Crossbow Hard Cases
Take a look at the Plano Manta crossbow case. You don't have to take your bow apart. Just a thought.

Re: Fall tests
Don't feel bad panhandler80 up until now I hunted out of everything mostly my climber and never used any safety device at all. Many years of disregard for my safety and not to mention causing great hardship to my family. Thank God my brain finally developed enough for a seed of common sense to sprin...

Re: WOW! These Excals mean business!
Accuracy is a must for sure but the thing that makes me all giddy like a school girl is the PIECE OF MIND knowing that the bow is durable easy to work on. This is where Excalibur leaves the rest behind. Seriously! !!!! I have a compound crossbow too a really nice one, top of the line and I'm here to...

Re: Fall tests
Whatever safety plan you come up with in my opinion needs to have the ability to self rescue without any help along with plans with help.

Re: excalibur vortex..a good choice or not?
Blackjack I would consider the vortex to be an all around bow. Excalibur's website has a spot that lists the animals that it recommends the bow to take. I believe they do. Anyway I'm sure that any model can kill any animal but the vortex fits it really well.

Yes it's not as bad with some stands. But I use a climbing stand. That's why I said in my situation it's a must have. Happy hunting all and good luck this year

Re: Safety harness
At mountaineer sports web site Dr. Wood talks about suspension trauma and the after effects from hanging. Like not laying down for 30-40 minutes, how dangerous single belts are, everyone that uses a safety system needs to read this. Information gotta love it.

Re: Safety harness
Strum, in the storage area there are elastic loops in rows at each side. The rope is laid flat in a serpentine fashion or coarses. The elastic just holds it in place so it's flat and orderly while in storage. To repack you lay the system on the floor with the rope stretched out like you were hanging...

I bought mine from wyvern and they were black. Got some replacement rubbers coming for back up. Curious to see what color there going to be now. Didn't know they came in anything but black.

I appreciate your post comfyBear. Very interesting and food for thought. Never thought about it but your correct about my vortex having a "sweet arrow spot". I'm enjoying all the posts on here from you all. Vince
