Re: How not to get invited back to hunt a property.
Where I am allowed on to hunt I always send every owner something between Christmas and New Year even if I don't hunt it that year. It does get expensive but that is the least I can do for them for letting me hunt. It is tough getting on anywhere here and I won't do anything to give them an excuse ...

Re: How not to get invited back to hunt a property.
bob, you are the ideal hunter, i would do exactly what you did. gaining access to private property is very difficult these days, let alone the owner to trust you to help out as you do. hats off to you dude, good hunting to you....

Re: canning deer tonight
i ways always taught to ALWAYS simmer/boil any home canned meats. that way it kills any bacteria. i like to add dry seasonings when canning meat. the meat makes it's own broth, however you can still add broth in small amounts. you do not want to end up forceing the liquid out of the jars, or the wil...

Re: arrow fletching
i use the same thing, i thought it worked great. you have to be careful not to push your shaft down to hard while applying fletching to the shaft. it is rubber (the nock) and it will flex, resulting in your shaft moving downward.

what does deer hunting mean to you?
a cold, crisp fall morning. so quiet, you could hear a pin drop - an owl hoot at first light - the walk across the ridge top in the dark, (the older i get, the farther and steeper it becomes!) -the vibrant colors of the autumn leaves, as the suns rays luminate the woods - the tiny wren that lands on...

Re: Canned hunts
don't you dare call that hunting!! it is all rich pricks getting what they want! canned hunts are b-s. hunting in enclosures is in my opinion the same thing. oh well it is his first animal, or it is an easy and safer way to hunt, more b-s, then again some hunt food plots with genetically superior bu...
