Re: Bear ID question... Florida...

Well, I have some more pics of this bear, as well as a sow with cubs and small boar. This bear probably twice the size of the sow I have with two cubs, and three times the size of the young boar. Guessing this is actually a right decent boar bear. Hopefully I will be able to connect. We have a guara...

Re: Bear ID question... Florida...

Yeah, that's what I figured. We can kill the legally (as long as they are without cub(s) and this one is, but still... Sucks. I have very small boar and that's it. We finally get a bear season here and in the weeks leading up to it, the 200 acres of mature timber around me were removed. Oh well.

Bear ID question... Florida...

I have always considered them a nuisance. Therefore, I've always just skipped through bear pics, only to pause for truly huge ones (I posted a N. America giant on here a few years ago) or little guys doing cute things. This year we can kill one. First time in 25 years. Anyway, I've never seen a bear...

Re: 1989 flemish string for alligator arrow / 175 lb limbs..

I went ahead and went back to excel string. Those solid glass arrows are HEAVY and have grooved nocks. One time several years ago the arrow must have slid forward some. My buddy shot and I guess between distance and maybe not hitting the grooved nock, the string essentily jumped the arrow and basica...

1989 flemish string for alligator arrow / 175 lb limbs...

I have an axiom that I have successfully gator hunted with using 22/64 solid fiberglass arrows, 22" in length. I had an Excel string on At the time. Bow now has dyna string on it. Should I change back to excel for that super heavy arrow and point combo, or not worry about it so long as I make a...

Late post, but a quick recap of last season.... pic intense

Been a while, but wanted to share a few pics and quick recap of my season. Only one kill from the Excal, but it was a dead-ringer! Going to go through Photobucket presnt toward end. Little buck will be at end of this thread. He was a cool deal in that it was my first archery kill (out of probably 15...

Good Alabama buck. Should get mount this week...

Not a bow kill, but my best buck yet. Mount should wrap up this week and I'll be sure to post a picture of him once he's on the wall, too. Well, I got situated and hit the bleat call a few times and just sat. No more than 30 minutes later I catch movement down the 300 yard shot line and I see horns....

Time for new string?

New strings are affordable. Time for me to spring for a new one? Do folks bother having them re-served, or is it not worth the cost when you can just get a new one. Anyway, here's the pic of my serving. I keep it well waxed, but there's a pretty sporty dent here. Earlier it looked almost as though t...
