Re: My Dumb mistake.
I was turkey hunting from a pop up ground blind and had a nice big tom in the cross hairs at 15 yards. I was positive this bird was going home with me. I squeezed the trigger and my Equinox slapped me in the face and the tom took off without a scratch. In the excitement I forgot to allow enough room...

Re: Cocking your crossbow
When hunting from a tree stand I cock the bow first then pull it up with no bolt in it. For quick follow up shots I've found it's easier to load without the rope cocking aid. It's kinda hard on the fingers but not too bad if you're wearing gloves.

Vari zone scope problems
Has anyone else had this happen? I checked my scope as I often do and found it shooting 2" right. I knew right then something was wrong.......she's always dead on. I removed the windage cap to make the adjustment and this is what I found. http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k503/WildlifePatrol/...

I know how you feel. Have you considered setting a snare trap for the jerk that's stealing your equipment? Sure would be nice to find him hanging by his feet!

Re: evening hunt in the schedule?
There's a good chance those bucks were around sooner than 8:04. I had the same problem at my feeder so I placed few cameras in the thick stuff around the feeder. The deer were there sometimes 1/2 hour to an hour before hitting the corn triggering the feeder cam. A game camera is one of the most usef...

Equinox Penetration Test On Hog
Here's a video of the Equinox doing it's thing. Watch the slow motion and see the power of the Excalibur knock him off his feet. No tracking required. Another one down and a million more to go. Man I love my job! http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k503/WildlifePatrol/?action=view¤t=MyhogM...

X2 on the Spitfire. Very accurate, same POI as practice tips, massive wounds and cheap. The perfect broadhead.

Re: which one would you shoot?
I would shoot both if they walk out on my food plot. Fortunately we're allowed 2 deer a day every day until mid January. If I had to choose one it would be the one that walked into bow range first. Nice bucks!

Re: Florida Bear
We do need a bear season sooner or later. So far no one has been attacked and killed by a Florida black bear. I get many complaints about bears but I'm limited on options. Electric fences and educating property owners is about the only choice for Floridians with bear problems...until a few people ge...

Re: What happened??
I had the same thing happen while using a plastic flat nock. The plastic deforms after only a few shots and causes the string to slip off the nock. I only use alumimun nocks for that reason. In my case it detroyed a fairly new FF string. If you can find the bolt check the firenock for flatness aroun...

Re: fawns NOT to shoot
Most of the fawns in my area still have spots during our archery/crossbow season so there is no question about it. I also agree that it really depends on the location/situation and management plan as well as other factors. Ultimately the decision must be made by the hunter and it's our duty to make ...
