Re: Excalibur TwinStrike Crossbow

Would like to hear the R&D team on this...was this really something customers were clammoring for? Quick follow up shot was never anything I prioritized with archery, horizontal or vertical bow. With the accuracy of an excalibur, one well placed arrow is all it takes.

Re: Reserving strings?

I dont keep a close count on shots. I dont shoot alot outside hunting season. The string that has issues this year was new last year. Probably no more than 75 shots.

Re: Reserving strings?

I had the latches polished as a warranty job thru excalibur. Ive had 2 sets of limbs (failure on a gen 1) and the same issue with both although much better since the latch polish. Owner of a local bow shop told me it is simply a function of draw weight and acute angle created by the narrow limbs.......

Reserving strings?

My micro 335 likes to eat servings. I had the latch polished which has helped some, but I am still having serving wear issues. The string is in good shape, i just need a new serving. Is there a type of serving material that i could have it reserved with that may last longer ? Any help would be appre...

Saw needed for arrow building?

I shoot 16.5" BEEs out of my micro 335. I am thinking about trying to make my own arrows. I would want to buy shafts and cut them down. Can I use my mitre saw to cut the shafts or is there another specialized saw that I need? Thanks for the help.

Some excalibur hating at my local shop

Headed to my local shop tonight looking for some BEE arrows. Guy working there asks what bow, length arrow (16.5 with 110 gr. Inserts) and broadhead weight (100 gr. Spitfire) i use. As soon as i said i used a Micro 335, the lecture began. Despite not having BEE in stock or knowing any about them, he...

Re: Great American Outdoor Show

I have gone to the show for years as i live about 25 minutes from harrisburg . Honestly, unless you are looking to book a hunt, you can get better deals on equipment elsewhere. By the time you pay to get in and park, you are down 20 bucks or so not to mention the crowds.

Re: Width??? Has it been a problem?

The width of my old Axiom hurt my chances on a nice 10 point last year. He came in on a steady walk to 7 yards and stopped to check a scrape offering a perfect shot. He was too close to use the shooting rail. I had to try to maneuver my bow to shoot under the rail and couldnt do it due to the width....

Officially in the Air Brake Shoulder Bolt Club

I had to take the air brakes off my micro 335 tonight. As i stare at the pile of stripped shoulder bolts, i ask myself if reinstallation will be worth it. Before I start another install on my new limb set, i want to make sure i can easily and quickly get new shoulder bolts. Have any of you just boug...

Re: Tagged out with the Micro in PA

Sproulman...feel your pain. I hunt Michaux State Forest down here. Lots of land but not many deer. I have been successful but it is hard hunting. Rifle season on public land is a joke around here. Last year i watched a guy plunge into a thick briar laden bedding area....while it was still dark. Need...

Tagged out with the Micro in PA

I finally got to use my new Micro 335 (General John Buford) that my family bought me last Christmas. While I missed my faithful Axiom, the narrow and fast Micro was a welcome replacement. The Micro saw its first action the second week of the PA bow season in October. I was hunting an urban property ...

Speed ring sighting in question

Just wanted to make sure I was doing this right when sighting my deadzone scope using the speed ring..... Sight in at 20 yds. Use the 20 yard crosshair and shoot at a 40 yd target. Adjust the speed ring until the 40 yd chevron is on the arrow you just shot using the 20 yd crosshair. Thanks for the h...

Spitfire vs Spitfire MAXX any input?

I've shot Spitfires for 3 years and have had great results. I shot 2 doe and a turkey this year with the xbow, so now I need to buy some new broadheads. I was considering trying the Spitfire MAXX with the cut on contact tip. Has anyone used both broadheads? Any comparative input would be appreciated.

Santa may be bringing me a Micro...have a question

The kids kind of let the cat out of the bag and told me santa is bringing me a new Micro for Christmas!!! Just thinking ahead....when you guys assemble your bows do you level the scope using a levelling tool or do you just eyeball it? I've had dealers do assembly for me before but like to do it myse...

Question on cutting down gold tip arrows

I am up grading from my axiom to a micro. I am shooting 20 in gold tip laser 2 bolts with the axiom. Can I have them cut to 17 inches to shoot with the micro or will it negatively impact accuracy?
