Re: do you believe this

Say you find a fresh deer kill or finish one off, you don't see anybody. You tag it, gut it, drag it out to your car. Now somebody confronts you. You already have it tagged. You just can't take your tag off of it and give the deer to them. If the Game Commission finds you using this tag again they w...

Re: How not to get invited back to hunt a property.

Where I am allowed on to hunt I always send every owner something between Christmas and New Year even if I don't hunt it that year. It does get expensive but that is the least I can do for them for letting me hunt. It is tough getting on anywhere here and I won't do anything to give them an excuse t...

Re: Got a Question - More Big Bucks This Year?

Sorry to say not where I hunt in Pennsylvania I have to say no. I have only seen one buck over 5 points in the last 2 years. That was on the first day of archery season last year. This year I hunted every night of the 6 week archery season except 2 ( 1 rain and 1 snow) I saw 5 buck, but nothing over...

I will be 57 in January. Married to the same lady for almost 33 years, but I wouldn't do it again.

Re: range finder

When I am up in a tree, instead of ranging them down at the ground I range them at a height directly across from me at the same height as I am in the tree. But pending on terain that is not always possible.

Re: Which one would you think is better.

This is Koko's son. He told me to write a reply to this, considering i got a 17. As far as a 17 hummer vs 22mag vs yote I would pick a 17. Yes the 22mag is more powerful then a 17 out to around 100 yards, but it also lacks the surgical position that the 17 does, Not to mention the trajectory curve w...

Re: What a waste

I agree with you boomer, southeast corner of PA where I come from is like that. Berks and Montgomery counties are totally different. But they are in the same WMU (5C). Berks doesn't have the deer Montgomery has. At least were I hunt. To many doe permits. You still can't hunt them where you can't get...

Re: crunch time!!

Three days left here. The rut seemed to be cranked up last week. I saw deer 6 out of 7 times out, including 4 buck (1 legal maybe). Thursday was the HOT DAY saw 3 buck in that one day. But this week all I have seen is 1 doe. Both the buck and doe seem to be gone again. Except for that one week the s...

Re: Oldest Buck in the Bush!

Congratulations:
It doesn't look like I could even shoot that buck here in PA. We need 3 points to a side at least 1" long.
It would just be my luck to see him too. You got to love the PGC.

Pennsylvania Hunting and Trapping Digest on page 69 states: Note The required amount of fluorescent orange for each season must be worn while moving from one hour prior to the start of legal hunting hours and for one hour past the closing of legal shooting hours.

It is those close gimmy shots that you think you can't miss . You say to yourself this deer is dead. Something always seems to go wrong.

Re: Ever wonder how many hunts are over before they begin?

You can look on the bright side. You at least know there is one there. I have my camera over a scrape where I have a tree stand located. I pulled the sd card after 6 days and there isn't a picture of anything on it. I guess I didn't miss any thing.

Re: FRUSTRATED!!!!!

I hope it is not an Equinox thing because I just bought one this year. Really, I haven't seen many deer in the last 5 years and blame it on the PGC here in PA. To many doe permits given out. I have now been out 24 times and seen deer 5 of those times. Just last night I did see 10 doe together, but n...

Re: Exorcism needed

I get in my hunting stand 3 hours before it gets dark and in the morning I like to get in 1 hour before it gets light and put my Walker Game ears in and just listen to the sounds. I have had the camera at 6 different locations and if you want to sit there for a week straight you might see something ...
