Re: Delta + McKenzie Targets
My 58# Black Widow almost shoots through the Mckenzie. I have to put one of those OLD super hard foam targets in front of it or my vortex shoots through it !!

Re: Delta + McKenzie Targets
Don't buy the orange Mckenzie! My vortex buries 370 grain bolts up to the fletch and with 430 grain bolts you don't get a pass through but close enough to ruin your fletchings!!! It's brand new also...

I don't have one but shortly about 9 people will tell you to get the Rhinehart 18-1, as for the vanes blazers work pretty good. Welcome to the forum...

Re: Why FOC is only part of the story
One other thing to keep in mind when you are adding more weight to the front is that you are decreasing the effective spine of your arrow. This is a VERY good point. Is spine tuning with bolts as important as it is with vertical bows? I know that when you have your arrows cut for a vert bow with th...

Re: O/T coyote hunting info required
I prefer any centerfire .22, that being said I have a Remington 760 in .243 that hates every bullet except 60 grain sierra hollow points. They are pushing 3800 fps. and put quite a wallup on coyotes. If you guys are hunting together one of you should have a shotgun. Those things can sneak up on you ...

Re: New pics on Cudde Back
When I first took the hunter safety course here in Pa about a million years ago I remember learning about "pet deer". They put ribbons on them and were illegal to shoot. My first bus driver actually had one and my dad took me to her house when I was about 10. She would go out on her deck a...

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z348/Gewehrhund/IMG_0252.jpg If you're wondering if your vortex is accurate look at this link. I just did this today getting ready for a pig hunt! Hooks down on your string and you could put a little wax on the string but you don't need to. Never shoot at the same...

Re: Need some advice climbing tree stand or not
What ever you do be safe!!! I fell 20 ft taking down a ladder stand 11 years ago, clean break of my tibia and tore every ligament holding my ankle and leg together. I was lucky I landed on my feet or I'd be dead or eating from a straw right now. Always wear your safety harness!!! The new climbers li...

Re: Swhacker broadheads
Vixen Master you might want to double check about the lions. Here in PA the game commission has a clause "Any animal not listed in the manual is considered protected". We have cougars here too and the GC refuses to acknowledge them! Of course what happens in the back yard stays in the back...

It looks as though his brace height is right at the back line which is where I keep mine..taz3 wrote:I wonder how many fps are lost, if any, with the brace height that high? It's good to know more ways to quite them down, though.

Re: Excaliber Equinox questions...
I too was skeptical about how loud these bows are. My Vortex is considerably louder than my compound or my primitive bows. I did kill a deer this year with a sketchy shot, quartering into me, had me totally busted, tensed up and stomping her hooves at 40 yds. She never took another step after I shot...

Re: turkey set up?
Shoot them when they're NOT strutting. Aim for where the wing attaches to the body, the "wing butt". The vitals are a small area and I'm sure we all know how tough turkeys are.

Re: How do you pin down your dog-house blind?
This is off the original topic but the best use for duct tape is.........starting a camp fire. A little piece under your kindling burns for quite a while and will even start damp twigs..
