Re: A pretty sturdy bear... don't you guys think?
I've been hunting bears all my life here in Ontario, and that bear is 350 + I'm sure. When the ears on a bear look small, you know you got a good bear in front of you.

Bolt and Broadhead combo
I just wanted to know what combination of bolts and b/h the Vortex owners are using? What seems to work and what doesen't. I'm going to stick with fixed b/h for now, unti I get used to it. I also would like to know what you recommend for a spare string and what type of wax to use.
Cheers

Re: New to the world of crossbows
LOL I only need the one :D So my visit at the bow shop was awesome. I looked at 4 different xcal's and tried them all out on a 3D target. As I thought the Vortex is the one for me, I realy like that shadowzone scope wow  So Jim the owner gave me a reasonable price I think. $ 930 for the shadow...

Re: Tink's smokin sticks?
I've used the smoking sticks a few times, i'm not sure if they work or not, but it's a great tool to determine where the wind is coming from. I take a coffee can drill 12 holes around the bottom edge of the can, then I drill 6, (1/2") holes about 1 inch from the top of the can. I then light 2 s...

Re: New to the world of crossbows
What are the best weights for broadheads? I'm thinking 150 gr and 100 gr for mechanicals? Do carbon errows come in different weights too, or are the standard weight? Wow so many things to take in to consideration when it comes to setting up a great setup
