Re: Stand theft prevention
There's not too many ways to stop them from being stolen, so the next best thing it to make them unusable to the thieves. My ladder was held on by nut and bolt, I used quick release pins and carry 3 sections of ladder out when I'm done hunting. I do have to exercise caution when going up without the...

I have a cheap metal detector from Radio Shack/The Source and I've been able to find bolts from pass throughs, plus it has many other uses

Re: Breaking nocks
I wonder if you put a mark all the way around the knock with a grease pencil to see if it may transfer to the crossbow where it is making the contact. I would suggest putting it on fairly liberal so you can identify where it might be. If it is making too large of a mark you can always decrease the a...

Re: Can't get to proper brace height - puzzled?
I just put a new string on my Matrix and it was a half inch from the stops and after a few shots it has moved a 1/4 ". I'll be leaving it cocked over night and more practice to get more stretch out it. I'd like to have a couple more twists in my string as well.

Re: Need advice, arrow grain scale......
Most parifanalia shops that sell scales are unaware their scales measure in grains. I've bought a couple like this for $20-40. Just ask them to open the package and the instruction should state the different increments the scale is capable of measuring.

Thoughts on Bolt Weight
My practice bolts are 375 grains and my hunting bolts are presently at 395 grains. With my Xbow capable of 370 fps with my practice bolts, speed isn't a concern, so I'm thinking I'll add weight until I see a trajectory change at 40yards with broad heads. Where I hunt is a well wooded area and 30-40 ...

New Custom Xbow
I built myself a Hybrid Matrix, with an older rail machined down and 380 limbs and riser. I'm still working on an idea for a custom stock, so I'm using my Phoenix stock for now. I took it out today to dial in the scope and measured the speed, at 370 fps with a new string I'm pretty happy. It still n...
