He fired on a Police Officer and is still alive? Great restraint on the Officers part.

Yes and yes!xsh0tya wrote:Sorry new to this as well... but why the wait is it for the animal to feel safe and stop fleeing and drop or is it because a wounded animal is so dangerous? Or something else cool, I don't know about?

Re: AFTER THE SHOT
I'll answer from a handgun hunting perspective. If the Deer runs out of my visual, I usually wait about 30 minutes before starting the hunt. I agree on the overnight garbage, not counting the rotten and/or foul tasting meat, it would be decimated by Coyotes.

Re: Newby Questions
Would you make an adjustment on the FPS ring with a 30 yard shot, or save that for 40 or 50?automated11 wrote:I would do 30 or 40 yards before 50 just to make sure. There is quite a bit of drop at 50 yards and you dont want to ruin an arrow.

Re: Newby Questions
One last question........well, probably not :) , just want to make sure I have the procedure down correctly. After sighting the scope in at 20 yards, the next thing to do is to make 50 yard shots and zero the scope in with the FPS ring. Is this correct? Also, if my 125 grain tips are hitting correct...

Newby Questions
Arthritis disability brought me to crossbow hunting and I brought home a new Vortex yesterday, LOVE IT! I've watched all the instructional videos and have sighted the bow in at 20 yards with no issues, but I have a few questions. The local store didn't recommend the heavy 150 grain field point tips ...

Re: Rutting
This would make sense to me, here in Indiana we've (or at least me) have seen very little signs of the rutt, no rubs, scrapes or chasing, so maybe things got a late start this year. Plus, our weather this year was warm and windy!

Re: Which model is best for arthritic hunters
Thanks everyone for the input. I'm not overly concerned on the draw, since it's a single event that I may approach slowly, but weight is a real issue. If all the models are close in weight, then this won't be an issue compared to a compound. Would the velocity of the Vixen give me reliable shots out...

Which model is best for arthritic hunters
Hello folks, This old rifle hunter has just recently been forced to apply for a handicap hunting permit due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis, and it was swiftly approved. I have damage to my shoulders, elbows and hands so weight is a real consideration in my selection, and that's what brought me to this f...
