Re: Ongoing Vancouver Island Bow Hunt Update
Rested the place noted above through the weekend. Hit another area today... Sixty-Seven Yards from one of the Biggies there with the Max this morning. GAGGER! Actually a tad heavier & wider than I thought! :D Big Dry Doe (Grey-Back Granny) stayed ever so slightly farther. Of course all the rest ...

Re: S-5 & Point Of Impact Question
Im thinking about tapeing up my scope. The stuff I used actually isn't a tape, rather a stretch fabric wrap. It sticks to itself, not your bow/scope etc. Called " Camo-Form " from McNett. Good stuff IMHO. Better than tape as it leaves no residue. Available in damn near any camo pattern yo...

Re: S-5 & Point Of Impact Question
Thanks Fellas! Answered the question this morning. Took the bow out to my Rancher Buddy's place, and ran a couple dozen shots through her. With the Firebolts (and 150 grain Boltcutters) there was no change in POI whatsoever. With the heavier Big John arrows that Derf so graciously sent me to try, th...

S-5 & Point Of Impact Question
Hello Folks, Today I received and installed the S-5 system on my Exomax. The S-5 is black, rather than the olive green I see in most of the online postings, but all else appears to be the same. To ensure proper clearance from the string to the rubber pads (I went with just shy of 1/8" to allow ...

Re: Ongoing Vancouver Island Bow Hunt Update
LOL! In some places that's true Derf. But only some places. Both myself and a handful of Buddies have been scouring the mountains searching for another Biggie or two. But here the bush is extremely dry (we're currently setting long-term records for the driest August through October period to date) ...

Ongoing Vancouver Island Bow Hunt Update
For a couple that have asked... Sat up to pattern the Blacktail Deer's movements again last evening. 41 does came along, followed by 5 bucks - the " Shooter " 4-point, a medium 4-point, 2 medium 3-points, a 2-point and a spike. 4 more late arrivals to the party came along that I could not ...

Re: LET ONE WALK!!!
Letting them walk is half the FUN! Just last night I had 14 does feeding right in front of me - ranging from 22 yards out to 55. There's a Real Biggie in that neck of the woods, and with two full months of season yet to go, the Ladies are quite safe - for the time being... Cheers...

Quite the array of differences regarding crossbow use in Canada: ALBERTA Crossbows legal for all seasons except archery-only. Legal in archery season for eligible handicapped hunters with a crossbow license. Crossbows must have a minimum draw weight of 100-pounds. http://www.albertaregulations.ca/hu...

Re: Let The Games Begin!!!
... whats the target made of curious? Thanks Fred, but most of the Credit goes to that Awesome Bow!! I simply took an old burlap bag, stomped a bunch of old rags into it tightly, a couple shots of spray paint and Good To Go! It easily stops any arrow with a target point. When shoot...
