Re: Ibex or Axiom?
If you are able to, find a place that has both and hold them. The axiom had a bit of an edge at the top of the wrist that dug into the web between my thumb and index finger. Didn't have this problem with the pistol grip. I have the ibex.

Re: First crossbow
Fred T- in addition to the stock being different, I have heard that the triggers are slightly different as well.

Re: shredded serving- overdrawing?
I took a small round needle file and lightly took off the edge this morning. Going to see how that works along with being less aggressive on spanning the bow. The right side of the receiver did have more of an edge than the left. Hopefully the combo will stop the issue from happening again.

Re: shredded serving- overdrawing?
@flightattendant100- I might look into gently filing the edge off as well, just in case I get a bit too "enthusiastic" with spanning the bow.

shredded serving- overdrawing?
Took the Ibex out again this past weekend and on one of the shots, I noticed that the serving on the right side of the rail was shredded- tough not to notice actually. I had a spare string in the bag, so I removed it, and put on another. Examining the string, I see the marks where the string is held...

Re: to my surprise ...
Keep both. Your son might want to shoot with you at some later point or he might want to borrow it from you. Never hurts to have two.

Re: Your opinion please
The Ibex SMF was my first crossbow. I got another, a Vortex so my dad could shoot with me, from the bargain cave at cabelas. I thought I'd like the aluminum rail more, but I prefer the SMF.

Re: For you target shooters out there
Nice :D @automated11- I think in an earlier thread you mentioned you have the Apex. On the point blanc, there rail extends past the prod- stirrup is far forward. On the pictures of the Apex, it looks like two thinner pieces form the extension and not the rail itself. Is that correct? How sturdy are ...

Re: Rinehart RHINOBLOCK
Just picked up the rinehart 18-1 and used it this weekend. Seems like it will hold up and I like the warranty on it. Haven't shot it with broadheads yet though. I didn't find the arrows too difficult to pull by hand. The initial pull seems to resist you, then they just slid right out.

Re: Just got my first crossbow- Ibex smf
Thanks everyone. I'm very grateful to have her in my life- she's wonderful woman. Planning on reciprocating the gesture
Hopefully I'll be able to get a target this weekend or next and get acclimated to shooting it.
