Re: Change of the rules this year
Wow I had no idea that some states still allowed buckshot for deer. Hasn't been allowed here in MN for probably 50-60 years. Rifled Slug (foster slug, smooth bore barrel) in a 20 ga 870 was the first weapon I ever went after deer with. You need to come to the Deep South. Buckshot is alive and well....

Update on house burglary.
Thanks to my neighbor and a few deer cameras, the stupid thief was caught when they came back for their 5th load of merchandise. We got some very good pictures and the cops knew exactly who it was. When they went to arrest him, my washing machine was still in the back of his truck. Unfortunately the...

TriggerTech
Just wanted to say what a great upgrade this trigger is. I finally got around to installing a TriggerTech in my Matrix 380. It's so much better than the factory trigger. Absolutely no creep and smooth as silk. I was shooting it today with my neighbor in preparation for our upcoming Missouri hunt.He ...

We miss you up in Canada. Say hi to Celia please from Patti and I. Hundred degree heat is no fun, don't care much for high temps either. Same here, all is good  Cheers! We certainly miss seeing you guys also. I hope that retirement is treating you well. I can't wait to catch up with all yo...

I only go to one place, Rolling Plains Adventures. You can look them up on the internet. They also have several YouTube videos. It's a first class place.

September is almost here.
How many of you guys are getting an itchy trigger finger? It's hard to get too excited when it's a hundred degrees outside but I'm trying to get tuned up without having heatstroke. My outfitter has started sending me some pictures of some really giant velvet bucks. I'm looking forward to the trip to...

Blue tongue killed most of the deer where I duck hunt in ND. Bad stuff.

Pretty good shooting for an old short guy with failing eyesight. Kinda figured you’d just let one of your beasts tear into him.

Re: 6 more days
I don't know where you are headed to in Missouri but I'm glad you are coming next week and not this week. Southern MO is supposed to have highs in the 90s early this week and northern MO (where I hunt) will be in the mid to upper 80s. Next week looks cooler so you should be fine. I'm actually going...

It's almost time for my first hunting trip since retirement. I'm headed to Missouri to hopefully kill a P&Y buck. The outfitter has been sending me pictures for a month. I've got some pictures of several giants. Got my hopes up for one particular buck. He has a huge double main beam on the right...

I'll put my order in before the next Boofest. What stuck out the most about your post was the word, "retirement". Congrats, you'll love it. Just hope you don't drive Patti out of her mind.

Mike,
I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. As a past recipient of one of Don's Boofest charities, I can concur that there are a lot of generous folks associated with this forum. You and your entire family are in our prayers.
