Re: Weak limbs or limbs breaking in?
Reading the last part of this thread really makes you scratch your head when folks sign in wanting a quick fix and get frustrated when they don't get it, then they don't keep us posted. What do we tell the next guy with the same problem? I am aware it can be frustrating having these issues, but the...

Re: skywalker ?
Welcome skywalker. I am not a long time member on here and read a lot more than I post. I do find this an open and friendly forum and have learned a lot in little time as there is a great depth of experience on here and a willingness to share it. Doesn't matter to me who got the first M380. Hope you...

Re: Great Deals on Trading Post
I too have the bug for the M380 but have owned my vortex for less than a year and really like it. The vortex will be around when I get the Matrix as I may not(highly improbable) like it. In any event the new bows are net getting out here too fast so I will continue my enjoyment and learning with the...

Re: What Broadheads Do You Shoot.
175 gr. slicktricks on firebolts refletched with 2" blazers using the ezfletch bolt tool. Very accurate at all ranges and reduce noise and vibration because of a heavier arrow, in this case close to 470 gr.

Re: How Long Do They Last?
Thanks for the replies. I am careful about heat and give the vortex the same respect my rifles get. I was thinking I would get a Matrix 380 when I shot the vortex out but it seems that would be sometime in the next life so I best get out and order one.

Re: crossbow recoil
The only thing in the recoil from the vortex that bothered me was the buzzy vibrating feeling(FFF string). Somewhat eliminated that with heavier arrow weight and S5's. To me there is no felt recoil at the shoulder. I bench a .338 WM for long range shooting and what I learned over time shooting it ma...

How Long Do They Last?
Putting aside the new Matrix bows, how many shots can a set of limbs be expected to give, practically speaking. I know there are a lot of variables like draw weight, maintenance, accidents, etc. I have < > 2000 on my Vortex in temps from +33C to -28C and they still check out. The only time it is uns...

Re: Vane question
I made the change to 2" blazers and the Bolt fletcher on the Firebolts. Tipped them with the SlickTrick 175 gr. mag and an already accurate Vortex got better, particularly at longer ranges. Just guessing but I don't think moving the fletching back will make a noticeable difference with all the ...

Re: computer & internet
Download free version of CCleaner and use cleaner and registry programs at top left of home page. Don't change any settings or do backups when asked. Just let it run. Will get rid of a lot of crap and your box should run a lot better. Good luck.

Re: Limb wear
Since May 2012 I have put < > 2000 shots on the Vortex. The only wear visible is the camo finish in the groove for rope cocking aid is worn away. I have cotton balled the limbs a number of times and nothing. Decided to shoot it in -27C weather. Put the xbow outside for 15 min. then checked all machi...

Re: Matrix speeds
What are the specs on the Matrix Diablo arrows? Who manufactures these? Thanks, Hoagy The arrows are done by Easton. 2" vanes(hopefully lots of helical) and a heavy front insert for mor FOC. Built with careful attention to spine. while I have little hope I could use these with the Vortex(gotta...

Boo Trigger
The Matrix is now officially released and I will get one of those. Will likely take a while for them to get out west and I do not consider my Vortex suddenly obsolete. Still have some tinkering and learning to do there. Don, can you give an update on those trigger assemblies you are building and a b...

Re: Matrix speeds
Will?, Eddy?, Ralph?. Apologies for the faux pas, watched that movie long ago. I would be very cautious about installing those new limbs on a riser that looks very different. That could be a nasty slap in the face, on the other hand you might get to 400 fps.
