Sighting in the Axiom SMF
I have my Axiom sighted in at 20 yds. However, it is dead on at 15, 20, 25 and 30 yds - I don't need to go to the next sight for 30 yds, I probably wouldn't take any more than a 30 yd shot at any of my set ups. --- But I might with the XBow. I have an AmeriStep Doghouse blind set up and intended to ...

13 Acres
We closed today on 13 acres. I have had 4 previous farms with Dairy, Beef and horses but sold my last farm -172 acres and retired to a Lake community. I needed a place and was looking for 20-40 acres but settled on this 13 acres 3.5 miles from my house. It is a Deer sanctuary, all grown up with 20 y...

Re: Will fall ever get here
Seems like thats all I can think about. In the woods, waiting with great expectations, and then suddenly - a deer, Buck or Doe, whatever, I love it all.

Re: vertical bow guys hating on crossbows
OK - I'll admit, I was sorta like that, not liking crossbows. BUT - I have 3 farms that i hunt on. One farm is better to hunt with a XBow. At least I think it is. My friend has 2 XBows - I rode him alot about that - but now I eat my words. I bought an Excalibur and love it and will use it some this ...

Re: Dakota Mule Deer
Thats right, you have to be disabled and not be able to pull back a Compound before you can use a Crossbow in ND - so I will have to use my Compound. The trip is looking good - about the lst of October 2013 if I get the draw. I've always wanted to shoot a Mule Deer. I am deciding now whether to add ...

Re: Swhacker Broadheads
Got this from Paul Templeton at Shwacker:
Ken,
Yes we have several factory crossbow pro-staff members using Swhacker broadheads. The 100G 2” will perform well for you.
Thanks,
Paul

Swhacker Broadheads
Anyone have any experience using the Swacker Broadheads with their Crossbow?? I looked at the Boltcutters and Xact yesterday and couldn't decide. I bought Swacker's for my Compound and was wondering if they would work just as well out of my Crossbow. Thanks.

Re: Anyone else fired up for deer yet?
Welcome kenspiel! Which PSE are you using - I just picked up a Brute X (my first compound) and am looking forward to trying it this year. As for broad heads, I shot 125gr Griz Tricks, and found that they hit the same as field points when shot from my Phoenix. Maybe I'm a sucker for slick advertisin...

Re: Anyone else fired up for deer yet?
Yes, I can hardly wait. Can't seem to keep my mind on fishing. I just bought a Excalibur Crossbow a few months ago, and will be using it for the first time this coming season. I also use a PSE Compound. For the Crossbow: what broadheads are you guys using. Boltcutters, Xact, ???? I am new to this fo...
