Re: My homemade vanilla killer recipe
put out the concoction about a month ago and so far no interest from deer or critters. applied to rotting stumps, branches, top of corn piles with no luck. maybe when all the food is down and snow covers the ground they may change their minds....

Re: My homemade vanilla killer recipe
as mentioned in a previous post, smells sweet but taste it and it seems to to the kick of bourbon! definitely not an item to sample in the stand! hope i made it right, followed the recipe - one part pure vanilla extract, one part pure almond extract, one part real maple syrup. i can understand that ...

Re: Trocar HBX broadheads
after my sight in, the carbons with the 100 gr hybrid trocars shot the same if not better than the original equipment - 100 gr fixed blade with 2116 aluminum's. thought the lighter combo would have had a higher shot placement.

Trocar HBX broadheads
finally made the upgrade to firebolt carbon bolts paired with the new muzzy 100 gr Trocar HBX hybrid mechanical broadheads. wondering if anyone has tried this combo as i used to shoot 100 gr fixed blade with aluminium 2116 bolts and i'm sure this will shoot differently.

trail cam theft
I'm sure that i'm not the first to have equipment stolen in the bush but after 4 trail cams I have to do something. Moving to different hunting grounds is not an option as I'm lucky to have permission where I am so I had come up with a solution. I'm planning on placing old non operational trail cams...

Re: older exocet question
just got off the phone with excalibur with the order placed and on its way. always a pleasure to deal with them and it was indeed $20 as you mentioned. many thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

older exocet question
I have an older Exocet (circa 2000) that has served me well and still shoots bang on from the day i bought it. One question though, i find that the stirrup is too small to comfortably fit my winter clod hoppers when cocking the bow. Had it slip out of my foothold a couple times last season and the s...

Re: Trouble makers at it again!
Riflemanz, i hear your pain. i hunt on private land and still have had trail cams stolen and most painful, find our hunting towers toppled (4 legged stands supported with guy wires - cut clean). feeling of deja vu when i seen your pics, we had a homemade stand like yours with exactly the same vandal...

Re: Healthy female coyote down
nice shooting, might reward you with a healthier deer population next season. ive been looking at buying one of those caller/decoys since we have a large population of coyotes in my area and can never get them in closer than 70-80 yds and being bow only (88) that presents a problem. which brand are ...

Re: southern ontario bow season
i have an uncle in ohio with a lot of property and never really investigated hunting in the us and am unsure as to the regs for transporting the bow across the border as well as the carcass or the processed meat. any advice appreciated.

southern ontario bow season
wondering how any fellow southern ontario bow hunters have made out this season? my group of 3 hunt locally in the hamilton area and its been a slow season for us. one small buck split three ways doesn't go far although there where a couple misses and one unrecovered doe. just not seeing as much as ...

baiting deer with sugar
i recently came across a large amount of plain white sugar that was going to be thrown out as it was sitting in a shed for years and was wondering if anyone has tried using sugar as a bait? it would be a shame to throw it out and i doubt it would repel deer but would question it as an attractant. an...

Re: Question for the exocet guru's
just had my exocet 165 with carved limbs upgraded to the mag tip limbs, the old ones were starting to splinter and i was having a hard time finding the string. took it in to excalibur in kitchener and they were installed while i waited. $80 and had a great mind picking conversation with peter while ...
