Re: VPA Broadheads
Only use the lighter 125gr nonvented heads on black eagle arrows, but i am happy. Shoot as good as slick tricks did for me out to 40yards and are easy to sharpen. Think i am at about 5 deer and a coyote with them now

Re: plastic dipped stirrup anyone?
I did it to two of my magtip bows. I do think it took some of the ringing sound out best i can remember now all these years later, but it definitely wasnt an amazing change. I mainly like.to put something on the stirrup to keep from scratching it up on rocks, etc when cocking the bow.

Re: 18 inch arrows effect on accuracy with a Phoenix ?
I shot 18" in my axiom this year because i ordered the wrong length BEE's. Out to 40 yards they shot identical groups to 20" arrows. I am going to stick with 18" now and share with my new matrix

Re: Can't make them fit..
Good info so far. Thanks. Looks like they must have made the change partway thru the mods that created the limited run of 350 bows

Re: Can't make them fit..
Odd, why would my 350 not have this gap at all? In this case are air brakes a must have? I dont hear about any 355 matrix limbs having issues. I have only shot it maybe 10 times so far...it was an impulse buy while i was hunting with already dialed in mag tip limb bows

Re: Cull Buck??
My guess is a.young deer, but as above said teeth are only way to go. I dont believe much in the cull buck theory. Lots.of bucks that look poor while young turn out better than people think. Bucks get the vast majority of antler genetics from their mother...not the father...so their is no way to sho...

New bow advice?
I own 2 excaliburs...an SMF Axiom and a Exomax. Got the axiom the first year the synthetic rail came out then bought the exomax for a steal when the matrix line first came out. I love both bows and will not part with either, but i have the itch for a new bow. Talked my dad into a 355 matrix a few ye...

Re: Brace height. String length.
I may be missing something, but it sounds like you are measuring from the wrong spot. If your string is sitting on the joint where the riser meets the rail your brace height is measured as zero and string must be twisted tighter (string should rise up on rail towards scope end and away from riser) b...

Re: To much arrow weight?
My arrows are right at about 475 grains out of my Axiom. No idea how fast I am shooting, but at 30 yards and under I feel the bow is plenty fast...deer do not react until after arrow is through them and in dirt. Doubt your extra 20gr would matter much

Re: Ballistics Help
You might also read about some of the wildcat cartridges now in use in Indiana like a .358 Hoosier that fit our legal requirements...maybe not Ohio's? I heard they kick like mules but can reach out there. Lot of good calibers on the list though. My shots have all been 100yds and less to date.... I h...

Re: How Many Times Can You Shoot An Excalibur?
The cheaper Axiom seems tough so far. My Axiom SMF is only about 3 years old, but it looks and shoots like it was brand new....same can be said of the 3 others owned by family. I want and will hopefully have a Matrix, but will not sell the Axiom to do so!

Re: who's ordering a new xbow?
I just took the plunge on a new bare bow Exomax (great price). Been shooting and hunting with Axiom SMF for 2 years and love it...put a heavier arrow in the Max than I shoot in Axiom, jeez it still shoots hard. It is a big beast in the hands though....I held a Matrix 355 and loved it, but economics ...

Re: Summit Viper clanking when I walk
I have the Viper also. A word of caution from my experience....that cinch strap is pretty near a safety must have unless you are very careful! One time i forgot it and a little side pressure on the rail from my hand when standing to hoist my bow up and the top platform fell to my ankles....nearly fe...

Re: Finding Cock vane in Dark
I have not tried more helical yet Boo...these are just the standard prefletched 2219 arrows Easton puts out. Getting into fletching my own will happen someday. I have been happy with the axiom for 2 years now....2 deer down last year to this combo. Just takes a little longer to sight in spinning eac...

Re: Finding Cock vane in Dark
I was surprised to read how many don't use a cock vane, but I do used fixed blade heads. I use 2219 aluminums with 125gr slick trick standards on an Axiom SMF. With the wrong vane down I can be off up to 6 inches at 30 yards, which is unacceptable to me. This has also been the case for my Dad (same ...
