Just checked the trail cam, 9pt and an 8 came through last night. Huge spike in buck activity.
Daylight hours still seem unproductive, but I'm predicting that will change very soon.

Re: New bow brace height.
She's definitely making contact. I was just curious if being closer would quiet the bow down a hair.Take a look at the back of the rubber bumpers.
If the string is hitting the bumpers then the S5 is doing it's job!

New bow brace height.
Got around 50 shots through my new bow now, and have left her cocked two nights in a row... String still hasn't dropped past the rear brace line. I'd think about taking a twist or two out, but looking at the string, it only appears to have 4 twists in total... I'd like to get 'er down a little close...

Re: Get out and hunt!
Watched a good sized 9pt chase around a group of does just after shooting hours tonight... Fella was definitely on a mission.
I think things are starting to kick off here in MN.

Re: string serving
If it is torn directly where the right latch finger hold the string them you are best to contact Excalibur. Is this a common problem?? My serving broke in that exact spot just this morning. Fortunately re-serving was a snap, but after reading that, I'm genuinely concerned. EDIT; Followed Boo's How ...

Re: He's Back!
He's more of a ghost than anything... Rarely shows himself on the trail cam, and I've only caught a glimpse of him once during shooting hours.
Hopefully this will be the year, I think he's ready.

Re: New String question
But isn't there a certain amount of stretch in new strings that will eventually change the brace?awshucks wrote:Same string=same b-height-same poi, ain't they wonderful?
Or am I over-thinking this?

Re: New String question
Just a guess... But probably not. If it's off, it wont be off by much... depends on the brace height.

Though I highly recommend sighting in EVERY time you change something.

Re: Stupid Newbie Question
If the bore laser was the proper diameter and length to fit snug and square on the rail, I couldn't see any reason why it wouldn't get you close... Just be sure to account for arrow drop, which would be done while fine tuning for your distances.
