Re: Black Beauty draws blood.

Perfect size antlers for "dragging handles". :D Indeed! He wasn't a small deer by any stretch, though obviously no monster. He expired on a clear trail about 15 yards from where he was shot, and that fork side made him a breeze to drag back. I honestly can not picture a better situation.

Re: Easton Firebolt Inserts

I had to go to a bow shop to get my brass inserts. The inserts are 110 grain fitted on a firebolt shaft. I do have 2" blazers and the flight of the arrow with a 180 grain snuffer is second to none. The beauty of this setup is ( arrow weight 539 grain), super high kinetic energy shot out of my ...

Black Beauty draws blood.

Still trying to work out this timeline in my head... Got my bow yesterday, got her dialed in today, and tonight, just before dark, she draws first blood. I could not ask for more. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/k481/bryan_r1/9E824E36-5681-484C-8509-601E19AA9892-324-00000036B7FEEF30.jpg http://i...

Re: Slick Tricks

quick update here, in route I have 175 gr Xbow trick blades, as recommended by Mr Miller, along with 2.25" Bohning X-Vanes... All to be mounted on Firebolt shafts.
Sound like a deadly combo?

Easton Firebolt Inserts

Again with the questions... y'all sick of me yet? 8) Was curious if there is a 100 gr brass insert available for the firebolts, and where one might find them... If someone could shoot me a link, it would be greatly appreciated. I found these: http://www.wyverncreations.com/index.php?main_page=produc...

Re: Giant Georgia Buck

If that buck has siblings, send 'em up to northern MN... I'd be more than happy to add a few more pics to this thread. :)

Re: Our Trophy Mount! :)

For some reason I picture a young spike buck keeping a steady 50 yard pace behind ya as he walks from door to door...

Great costume! :D

Wax your shaft?

heh, couldn't resist. Noticing some drag marks on the back end of my bolts from the rail (or spring-arm perhaps?)... I've got a few different polishes and waxes that I use to slick up the clearcoat on my bike, and was curious if these would help on the bolts? Apparently rail lube isn't recommended.....

Re: Hum a tuning tune.

I will be locking her down tight tomorrow, and try to eliminate as much human error as possible. My guess is that I was expecting her to kick like a rifle, was probably gripping way too tight, and flinching at the snap. If it doesn't group consistent while in the brace tomorrow, I will have a starti...

Re: Hum a tuning tune.

Black beauty made it here today, got her set up and shooting... A little concerned about my groups... 2 to 3" at 20 yards. I truly hope it's just me and not the bow.
I was hoping for dead on, out of the box consistency...
Hopefully we just need more bonding time.
