New Micro
I just bought a Micro a couple of weeks ago, so far I'm not impressed with the accuracy but I love the bow otherwise. I have shot the 16" bolts and 150gr field points that it came with and the 20" bolts that I use with my older bow. I would say that the 20" bolts with a 125gr point ar...

Re: ontario turkey 2014
Might I suggest the 870 on Friday and the 355 on Saturday. No Sunday gun hunting in my area so I use my phoenix on Sundays. Never shot a bird with it yet, that stinks.

What cheers me up when this happens is to think of all the work ahead of me that I just missed out on.

Re: Ideal shot distance?
I tried a 42 yard shot on a Doe a couple weeks ago, I found my arrow with hair and some fat with no blood. I watched the deer flinch a bit and then walk away. I thought because she was relaxed and not on alert at the time that this would work. I shot a Buck 2 years ago from the same stand at 33 yard...

Re: Deer roast recipe
I have tried it several different ways. In my opinion this is the easiest and the best way to cook a venison roast. Place it in the crock pot frozen add 1/4 cup of bacon grease and 1 bottle of beer and cook on low for about 8 to 10 hours. You will be amazed at the flavor and tenderness of the meat. ...

Re: Firebolts with lumenoks question
I have been shooting them since mid season last year after not finding my deer until the next morning. I found them to be more consistent from shot to shot, maybe they are balanced better. I always remove my arrow from the target or aim at different point, at 20 yards it will go into same hole every...

Where did the Turkeys go?
What's happening to the Turkeys? Their numbers seem to be in decline, at least in my area. Is this isolated to where I hunt in the Port Stanley area or has anybody else noticed a similar decline? Is it possible that the coyotes are killing them or maybe Raccoon's are getting into the eggs? Is it the...

I have heard the MNR is in bad shape financially, but surely I can't imagine them not printing a paper copy.

Re: Deer Combo
I'm shooting the Phoenix with firebolts and 125 gr rage, on the buck I shot 2 years ago the arrow went in broke the ribs and stopped when it struck the rib on the far side. Maybe I need a heavier bolt/broadhead combination.

Re: Help me decide
Yes looking at it in a mathematical way I see your point, but a deer can react to the noise from the crossbow within a fraction of a second. The shot could go over its back or possibly hit farther back away from it's vitals at a distance of lets say 30 or 35 yards. My thoughts are with a faster bow ...

Re: Help me decide
I was looking at the Matrix recently Myself, a little on the pricey side but probably well worth it. Not sure if I should look for a deal on a 200 pounder or hold off and save for a Matrix.

Re: Turkey Help
-pattern your shotgun with premium ammo -where camoflashe (do not where red white or blue) -do not wash your hunting clothing in regular laundry detergent(it contains UV brighteners and this will make your cloths glow to both Turkey and Deer -arrive at your hunting spot before day light, at a tree l...

Help me decide
This fall there is a good chance I will be Moose hunting with my crossbow, I'm contemplating purchasing a new crossbow so my 15 year old son can hunt with me. I have a Phoenix that I would pass on to him which leaves me with a decision on which model to replace it with. There seems to be a lot of Ex...

Re: Any sheds yet??
I haven't found any this year yet, last year in April I scared up some does and a couple of bucks and they still had their antlers. Maybe the mild winter had something to do with that.
