Re: Felt bob and polish for latch?

How about a picture of one of your latch polishing jobs - finished product, please. I'm just wondering how much of it your polishing?? Just the face (whole front) or the whole latch. Can't provide a picture without taking it apart. I polished the front- inside and the bottom (where there is any str...

Re: Excalibur Rope Cocker

Could anyone tell me if the brass rollers on the rope cocker hooks are suppose to be free-wheeling or does the rope just slide through them. Mine are very stiff, and don't roll without plies. (gently) Tried some W-D-40 and that didn't help at all. Yes they should be free wheeling :( WD-40 is not re...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

That's impressive shooting! Thanks, but not really! A lot of you are doing just as well or better. Most anyone can do as well with the right equipment and practice. Notice the rests and sandbags, which are sitting on a 8" PVC pipe a couple feet in the ground, with a couple 'T'...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

I looked it up on google an your not the only one that thinks that it,s possible. but my hillbilly thinking says only an act of god    I realize I should not have thrown data from rifle projectiles into this crossbow/arrow mix, but the similarities made me do it.. Just a couple point...

Re: Quiver mount weights

Looking for the weight of the aluminum excalibur quiver bracket against the newer composite excalibur quiver mount Also how much does the Danny Miller quiver mount weigh? Thanks!! Mine is mounted so I cannot weigh it for you. But it is only an aluminum rod 2" long and believe 5/8" diamete...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

I,m just a dumb old country boy ! all of my best shooting arrows at 30yds have been my best shooting ones at 50yds when I did all my testing at 30 then 50 to pick out my best shooting arrows for hunting  I just don,t see how a rifle could not shoot good at 100yds an then shoot better groups ...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

Dunno, but don't believe 50 yds groups are better than 30. Think about it a bit........ Agree 100%, " It does not make sense ". I have pondered (for years) EXACTLY that with my BPC .40-65's and .45-70's using super heavy cast lead bullets -but I have seen it 'proofed',...

Re: Danny Miller Top Mount Quiver

A nice simple design there. What keeps the mount from turning on top of the post? Good question. Dan uses a star washer under it to make it adaptable for all of the Excal risers. I turned down .200 on the mount end to make it wedge-fit and bottom in the hole on the MATRIX. If it's done tight it is ...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

Is it possible that your arrows dont have enough spine and are not stabilizing till after 30 yards? BTW what are your arrow specs? Box-stock Diablo's [Easton] that came with the bow (18"-401 grains) and some BE Executioner's (397 grains) .001's with all spines referenced to the cock vane (18&q...

Re: The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

I would have guessed it. Your 30 yd groups look like the 50 does [damn nice]but you used the wrong aimpoint in your scope. Please 'splain where the right aimpoint is with the turkey-plex reticule.. :?: The 30 yard problem, as I see it, is not elevation -that was my vertical hold error. Problem is t...

The Range- Thoughts from The Tinker

I have a 50 yard pistol range outside my back door. It now shares one target backstop with the Matrix. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/wsp617/P3250122_zps7632514c.jpg I was shooting the box-stock Diablo's that came with the bow (401 grains) and some BE Executioner's with SK300 vanes (397 grains)...
