Re: X-Act BH?
Purl, I use the XActs but with 100 g field points. I get the same point of impact with both. i shoot a vixen and a vortex. You are using a faster bow and while I am not certain, you may find a difference even at 30 yds. For the cost of buying new field points I wouldn't want to take a chance of wou...

X-Act BH?
I picked up some X-Act BHs. My question is, I sighted my exomax in using 125g field points. Would there be any appreciable difference in sights out to 30yds using these 100gr BHs? I don't really want to shoots these into my target. Should I pick up some 100gr field points an sight in using those? Th...

Re: Sighting in Troubles
Sight yer crosshair at exactly 20 yds! Then turn yer speed ring to the 350 & use 40 yd chevon at 40 yds to see if'en its still high ! You were right on vixenmaster. I took multiple shots @ 20yds and the majority were hitting a couple inches high. Once I adjusted the scope down, most were hittin...

Sight yer crosshair at exactly 20 yds! Then turn yer speed ring to the 350 & use 40 yd chevon at 40 yds to see if'en its still high ! I think your right vixen.I need to be exact at 20yds then see what happens at 40. I wasn't using a rest at 20yds so if I was an few inches high or low at 20 yds ...

Re: Sighting in Troubles
Hitting high. About the same 6 to 8 inches @40 and 50yds. Sorry about that I've edited my post to say high.

Sighting in Troubles
I'm using an Exomax with Flemish Dyna String using Firebolt arrows and 125gr field points. I have a VariZone scope. At 20/25 yds main cross-hair seems dead on.When I move out to 40yds using a rest the 40yd marking in scope was hitting 6 or 8 inches high consistently. Same at 50yds using the 50yd mar...

Re: Camo in crossbows: Real effectiveness?
Every bit helps. Maybe more so with turkeys than deer. Try leaning your camo bow against a tree in the bush. Even from a few yds away you can really notice how it blends in.
Just my 2 cents...

Re: Crossbow Strings & Thumbs Don't Mix!
Holy s*%t wheelie. Damn good advice. Around the neck was my choice to keep the cocking rope close at hand while target shooting. I guess besides keeping my thumbs out of the way I'll find another spot for my rope as well. Thanks for the tip.

Your right vixenmaster. The "school of hard knocks" seems to sum up most of most of my education. Let's hope I'm a good, quick learner.....

Re: Turkey Time Ontario
I believe in Ontario the only time you need wear orange for turkey is if another gun season is on at the same time. Perhaps if your in the northern part of the province and there was a fall turkey season and lets say a gun season for moose was on at the same time in that WMU, then you would need to ...

Crossbow Strings & Thumbs Don't Mix!
As a newbie to crossbow hunting I was of course anxious to get as many shots at the target as possible before the spring turkey hunt. I was sighting in the scope on my newly acquired ExoMax. I must have taken 20 or so shots from 20 & 25 yds then had moved out to 50yds. The first 4 or 5 shots all...

Re: Arrow Speed?
Thanks for all the replies. The Excaibur dealer close to home says he's chronographed the exact set up numerous times and said it's 330 to 335fps.

Arrow Speed?
I'm using an Excalibur (of course) Exomax with Flemish Dyna Flight String, 20" Firebolt Carbon Arrows and 150gr BoltCutter broadheads. I'm just setting up my Vari-Zone scope. Any ideas of approx. what speed I should have with this setup?
Thanks
