Re: Matrix 350LE speed with 150gr BH?

Chrono'd my Assassin 420 today shooting 18" proflights, and 150 grain field points. Using a flemish string. Averaged 385fps.

Re: A420TD ARRA QUERIES

I would think you would be just fine with either choice. I'm going the heavier route with the arrows for my A420. Jerry at South Shore is building me 6 pack of the "TAPP Punisher"'s Going with 92g inserts and plan on topping them off with 150g Slick Tricks. Maybe switch to that big 150g Sw...

Help - Eye relief issue

I have a Hawke XB-1 on my micro but even with the rings moved back as far as I can on the mount, I cannot get my eyes close enough to the scope for proper eye relief. I have to uncomfortably stretch my neck and head enough to shoot. Is there an adapter out there that would extend my rail back? Frust...

Re: Magnus Bull Head combo

Well the 100 grain heads definitely made the difference. Shooting VERY consistent now. I'm confident that if I do my part, and if the birds cooperate, a gobbler will lose it's head to my micro opening day. Haven't shot it any further than 20 yards, but where I've got my blind setup, it should hopefu...

Re: String wax and rail lubes

Does anyone know what serving material Danny Miller uses for the flemish strings he makes for the micro?

Re: Magnus Bull Head combo

Apparently either magnus or the ebay vendor I used follows this forum or the the crossbow gods decided to do me a favor. Sitting at my desk and a package arrived. A new pack of 100 grain bullheads. I ordered the 125 grain from an Ebay vendor. The same ebay vendor sent me the 100 grain without my pur...

Re: Magnus Bull Head combo

The bullheads arrived in the mail. All I can say is that the 125gr bullhead with the firebolt out of my micro was AWFUL! I was only shooting 20 yards and it was so inconsistent it was scary. Even at 12 yards it was still VERY inconsistent. One shot would be dead on, the next maybe 6 in high and left...

Re: Magnus Bull Head combo

I plan on trying them out this year with my micro 335 using factory firebolt arrows. Firebolts are just long enough to clear the stirrup and with 125 grain field points, I've honestly been VERY surprised at how well they are shooting. Now, that being said, all bets may be off once I screw on a bullh...

Micro 335 popped a buck this morning.

First time I've rattled a buck in. Must say that I'm a believer now! Just a small buck, but it was fun all the same. Cool to see a buck come charging in bristled up, ears back and looking for a fight. At first light I sprayed a little buck bomb "dominant buck" and a little buck bomb "...

Re: Is this a shooter?

Never in a million years would I expect to hear someone on the Excalibur forum mention my home county in Georgia! It cracks us locals up how all the Florida guys flock to Telfair. The Georgia state record deer was shot in Telfair several years ago, so we had a tidal wave of hunters from down under c...

Re: Micro 335 contributes to my freezer again

They allow us 12 per season.
10 doe and 2 bucks.
The 3 doe I mentioned are the first (doe) I've shot in quite some time.

Micro 335 contributes to my freezer again

Got Doe #3 from a new spot I have this year (50 yards behind my mother's patio). My mother and her neighbors complain about how the deer are eating up all their plants, so I've decided to help out. 3rd deer with the same ramcat head/blades/arrow. I've just resharpened them. Blades definitely bent on...

Great video on folding doghouse. Simple method. Makes it a snap. Love running and gunning turkeys with my doghouse.

2 deer so far this year with my micro and zombies tipped with ramcats. Both broke right behind the insert. Both hit shoulder bone on far side.
