Re: Plano model #1133 Manta, hardcase

I modified (added tie-downs and padding) a Plano Compound case from Dicks. It was great, but I just hated to have to break down my bow to transport/travel.

Face it Our bows are not compact

Re: Uh Oh! .357 arrowhead

Here in MN the gunshot wound on a "bow kill" would result in arrest, fine, possible loss of hunting privileges for 5 yrs...or more. Same here in Georgia. Not if you are killing "non-game" animals, right? You shouldn't be caught during bow season with these loaded up, but, otherw...

Re: Uh Oh! .357 arrowhead

Uhhhh..... kind of takes away the whole reason for using a crossbow and arrow!!! Sounds again like a gimic to me, as I can't see a use for it. Although to each their own I guess. R/W Not a Gimmick!. Have you ever seen a "Bang Stick" in action/ same principle Watch a few of the You Tube vi...

Re: Vortex Bolt speed?

I don't understand 3/16" above 'line closest to the shooter". I use 1 1/8" bheight [serving just touching the inside of the 'high' mark]. As has been explained, speed ring grads are for reference only. W/ 8 kills you are among the 'experts' on here! I was having a hard time...

Re: Vortex Bolt speed?

Sounds like you don't have the S5 on the bow by what you said about the brace height. I would set your brace height to 1", and give it another go! My next step would be to check the fletching on the bolts. I switched to blazer vanes just for the improved longer range accuracy, make sure that y...

Vortex Bolt speed?

Finally, after three years of LOVING my Vortex, building my Bolts and harvesting eight, real nice whitetails with nothing, but GREAT results, I got the chance to Chrono my set-up. My bow has about 100 shots on the limbs and maybe five dry fire (first four shooting sessions three years ago). i wanted...

Re: Best Broadheads for .... & Shooting in NOTL

My Vortex is very fond of slinging Firebolts w/2' Blazers,25gr after shock BH Booster and 125gr Vortex Pro-extremes. The total bolt weight is 404gr. This set-up results in complete pass through, short, heavy blood trails and quick recovery.
