Re: The new rig
I can't believe you would acutely shot your foot  Yeah, seems pretty dumb, but i suspect it happens a lot more than one thinks and people are scared to admit to it for fear of looking foolish. Kinda like dry-firing - I can honestly say in 20 years I have never dry-fired either a vertical or ho...

Re: The new rig
Awesome set up. Why the 19" zombies and not 18"? Interesting scope, what's the price range? And final question, "HOW ARE YOU GONNA WAIT TILL JUNE TO SHOOT THAT BOW???!!!" Not gonna wait until June. For the time being it is wearing a Twilight DLX that I removed from my ...

Re: The new rig
Put the string on and set brace height to 3/4 inch off of the REDS. A 3/4" is a good brace height, but it should be measured from where the riser meets the rail back to the string. That should leave 1/4" (about 2 string widths) between the string and the REDS. Your going to love your 405,...

The new rig
So I picked up my bare bones Mega 405 on Sunday. Took it completely apart, cleaned every fastener and then applied Loc-tite Blue and reassembled. Put the string on and set brace height to 3/4 inch off of the REDS. Cocked the bow and left it for 24 hours. After uncocking the next day the brace height...

Re: ontario anyone.
I see a lot of Canadians but the majority seem embarrassed by the name of their city because the just add (somewhere in Ontario, northeastern Ont, southern Ont, or make up a fake city name). I used to live in Ontario (Ottawa and Kingston) and now live in Chicoutimi Quebec....just like it says in my...

Depends on your aim, the caliber of gun you are using and how much ammo you have.

This is at my hunt camp about a month ago: http://i1363.photobucket.com/albums/r719/Joe_Miedema/Photo746_zpsd8b0ca32.jpg For context the platform is 8 feet wide and is 12 feet in the air. Same stand during the hunting season: http://i1363.photobucket.com/albums/r719/Joe_Miedema/6441_zpsd0860864.jpg

It's a 35 Whelen, shooting 225 grain Accubonds at 2750 fps. It is slated to be my new moose gun and if I can convince my wife it will be used for Siberian Brown Bear this fall - long odds on this right now.hankenhunter wrote:Niiice! What caliber and grain weight?

March 1st my bare bones 405 is supposed to be in.
