Re: Striped Threads
Another option, Wes - send it to Excalibur and ask them to use their threaded inserts for the front and back mainframe-stock holes. I did this for my M410 which uses a custom laminate stock and you can tighten them down really well without fear of stripping. I like the piece of mind and I :eusa-thin...

Re: Lumenoks ??????
Lumenocks use the conductivity of carbon/aluminum to complete a circuit. 50 hours on a Lumenock would be far below average...I have seen some that last for up to a week with the light on. The HD lumenocks are very bright and at 28gn they won’t drastically affect POI. For practice, I weight match my ...

Nice...when Excalibur finally makes us a production Micro 370 BP I’ll get off my wallet. Until then I’m content with what I have.

Re: Aluminun Arrows
With these high poundage bows stiffer and straighter is best. I don’t understand why anyone would prefer a lesser arrow. What is it about aluminum, other than price, that you like?

Re: Scope manufactures
Leupold is easy to find on the web. its the other makers i find harder to find. i spent a while looking for the scope made for the bear crossbows reticle made by hawke. i will say you need to try them in the field, for instance i wanted to like the Nikon crossbow scope but i found with my eyes the ...

Re: Black Bear as tabel fair
I was fortunate enough to hunt with some forum members and I took a sub-adult bear and it tasted great. I ground up most of the meat and added 20% pork and it tasted just like venison does. The tenderloins and backstraps were out of this world delicious with just salt and pepper. Don’t be afraid to ...

Re: Hawke XB 30 Pro
Not sure but mine do not have that feature. I'm OK with that though, as I could see a scenario where the timer went off and my reticle shut off right when I needed it. I just carry and extra battery The extra battery solution is definitely cheaper than the auto on/off, motion activated system that’...

Re: Another look at 100 yard shooting
You are spot on with the thoughts on a relaxed deer looking away or down at the shot. If you look at a majority of deer "jumping the string" videos, they are watching the arrow or bolt coming at them, and they have been alert as well. They are watching and trying to duck that projectile c...

Re: Leupold Scopes
I sold my Mark AR Mod-1 to Newbie. They’re great scopes and lighter then the VXR Patrol, (which I also own), with the same SPR reticle. Optically the VXR Patrol is slightly and I mean slightly better. If the price is a determining factor, I don’t think the extra $200-$300 for the VxR is worth it. Th...

Re: A super light crossbow
Recurves are among the lightest on the market already. Ti fasteners, a lighter Leupold scope and removing the quiver hardware helps. I also grind down the footstirrups and drill dimples into them before I wrap them - a bunch of little things combine to make for a lighter bow. I’m down for a bullpup ...
