Re: 2018 ATA Show

Range it, dial it ,shoot it is no good, here is how the real world works you sit down you range a few trees memorize a few yardages and after many hours if it is your lucky day after many hunts with no harvest you get a buck in that is nervous walking at a good clip and you have about 3 seconds to ...

Re: Double Tapp Inserts???

I have never lost any of Jerry’s old style inserts and my arrows were assembled by myself. With my Matrix 410 and from a rest I can shoot a 1” group @ 100y. If photobucket wasn’t dead I’d prove it, but it’s certainly possible.

Re: bulldog 330

IF you’re serious about accuracy don’t waste a single red cent on components for those Diablow arrows - they’re not worth it. Start with a quality black eagle shaft and make your own arrows or have someone like Jerry at SSAS make them. The Easton arrows are very inconsistent, even at shorter range (...

Re: Little Freak Nasty

Look at the bases on that Freak! Awesome trophy. Deer are such resilient critters. You never know what you’ll find when you get a euro mount back. My wife’s first buck had two extra teeth that grew out of the palate of the mouth, (the roof). They were sharp little buggers, like fangs. The taxidermis...

Re: I’m not liking my new Zombie Slayers

It’s definitely not the arrow’s fault...there is very little comparison to be made between any Excalibur branded arrow and a BE product. If anything the heavier arrow should get more penetration so if it is not giving you that, it’s about your shot placement.

If your season is still open you need to treat yourself to at least a half day hunt. No one on their death bed has ever been quoted as saying "I wish I had spent more time at the office". Your clients will still be there. Tell them you were sick.
That’s great advice. ^^^^^

Re: Micro Limb Deflection

As posted, you can try them. I would be calling CS pronto to get their take on this. I’d be unsettled by your experience because last I checked, (disclaimer...it’s been a while since I’ve owned a Micro and even longer since I’ve had limb issues), they are supposed to be within 0.5 of each other. The...

Re: How cold is cold for you?

I’ve never turned in early unless I made a kill. You warm your hands up really nicely in the field dressing process and on the drag out. I’ll admit that my standards seem to drop when it gets colder out which is one way to have a short sit in cold temps. I usually stick it out no matter the te...

 More moving parts and excess weight aren’t things I want from a recurve crossbow. The adjustable stock is a move in the right direction.

Re: How many days have you bow hunted for Deer this season?

I am doing more with less. Over the last two seasons I have been fortunate enough to take three mature deer and a handful of does. Somehow I managed this with the least number of hours logged, (scouting and hunting), than I have in the last 18 years. I’ve finally got a great property to hunt with re...

Re: custom arrows question

I would recommend the plastic nocks. Black Eagle aluminium nocks are the hardest available aircraft grade 7075T6 and are way harder than the Excalibur rail. If you shoot a lot they really wear the rail down. The aluminium used is also way harder than the nocks used in Excaliburs arrows. I always us...
