Re: Cocking 380 Matrix Noisy
The dry-fire issue, did it happen when cocking the bow? Like you couldn't quite get the bow to full draw and tried to let down? Because that would be on you, and it'd be working as it should. Once you get the string past the ADF, (anti-dry fire) the latch will catch a string that is not properly loa...

Re: R.E.D.S. on a Matrix 355
Yes...I saw that it was hitting the riser before the bumpers were installed, but now I know where the brace height should be set to keep that from happening. They do come from the factory with the string set way too close to the riser....at least mine was. Thanks! Strings will creep, even in the bo...

Re: Je suis nouveau Bolmarti

Re: Target Recommendations
18-1 is the way to go for a broadhead target. Cheap out and you'll need to buy another one next season if you shoot BHs a lot. Got mine for $100 at BP, a little steep but I've owned too many commercially made targets to count and the 18-1 is the best. The homemade broadhead targets, (sand, dirt), ar...

Re: Mechanical or Fixed Broadhead
For mechs, I had problems with the T3 and Rage. I had defective heads with both. with the rage, blades opened up prematurely, causing me to miss a good 8-pt by a good 6ft, took a hard dog-leg left. Thankfully it didn't result in an injured deer, but I'm still kicking myself over missing that buck. T...

Re: Is your Matrix to loud !
Did any of you get the fps of your bow before and after your mods? I know the whiskers will cost you fps, but how about the limb dampeners? I've heard whiskers will cost you 5-7fps, correct me if I'm wrong. Can't verify that. The limb dampeners I use are moveable, so at first I was losing 13fps, bu...

Re: Is your Matrix to loud !
Racking: I also shoot 405 grain arrows , shrink wrap my retainer. I make custom sting stops ( pretty much what you did) nothing on the limbs but I wrap my stirup with rubber. All that did a nice job but with the Boo sting on I can't believe it's the same bow! b.t.w did you order yours with the whis...

Re: Is your Matrix to loud !
I'm waiting on a Boo string. Can't wait to see what a difference it'll make on my setup. But I've done some simple things to quiet my 380 down. A 400gr-420gr arrow, modified REDS, (ball cut back by 1/3, makes a big difference), shrink wrapped arrow retainer. I also use the x-factor limb dampener bec...

Re: S5 SUPPRESSION SYSTEM
You'll get maximum benefit from the s5's if you mill down the balls that hold the rubber stopper by 1/3. It extends bumper life and improves vibration dampening. Did this for my m380 and my Nox and there is a noticeable difference...a tip I learned here and that I'm happy to pass along. They are wor...

Re: matrix 380 questions
i do like the lumizone , but the speed selector only goes to 350 is that pose a problem for the matrix at 380? Only reason I mention the lumi is because you listed it as an option due to your failing eyesight. At 400gr, you'll be close to 350 on the speed ring anyway. You might be better off with a...

Re: matrix 380 questions
400gr is a good weight out of the matrix, any Excal really. The 20" arrows will work too as long as they are over 350gr, only issue being the BH will most likely stick out further than the foot stirrup, something I don't like, but you might not mind. I don't like the Tact-Zone scope, personally...

Re: matrix 355 speed
My Vixen speed ring is set at 305, when it shoots a measured 280fps. My Matrix 380 is set at 360, when it shoots a measured 345fps. The speed ring is a staring point for your sighting in, you dial in the measured speed, then fine tune the speed ring to get your other aim points. Don't worry about sp...

Re: poi Changing Overnight
checked all bolts for tightness and all ok, never leave it cocked overnight been shooting standard easton 2219 bolts 4 in fletching 125 gr thunderheads ever since I had the bow with no problems. I just read on another post to check string alignment with rail. I just checked this and my string is 3/...

Re: Anyone using the Limb Saver package for crossbows?
The only thing that will make a damn of a difference in that kit would be the limb dampners. But I don't recommend them. They will fall off eventually and the glue used is permanent and not re-appliable. The string leeches will eventually fly off too. You can dampen the stirrup if you want with tape...

18' BEEs with G5 Montecs or Magnus Snuffers in 100gr fly like darts, identical to my field points, out to 50 yds, with my M380.
