Re: Lead free bullets
I also like the Barnes Vor-Tx factory loads, I use 168 grains in my 308 bolt gun and 150 grainers in the AR10. They hit like a hammer and 95% of the deer I've shot since switching to them have dropped in their tracks. We can and do still use lead, I just like the ballistics and terminal performance ...

Re: O/T Living on the Road
My best to you Mike, hope you're enjoying life. I caught your comment about captain morgan, I like the spiced rum with Mrs. T's mai tai mix, its tasty but goes down too fast. I'd send you a video of me after a few dips with the captain but I'd embarrass myself lol.

Re: Carrying a wallet while hunting
I already carry a biker style wallet with the chain going from the wallet to the loop that snaps around your belt. For hunting I remove the chain and metal clips and replace with a length of paracord and plastic clips. Its quiet and it's saved me from a lost wallet a couple times.

remember years ago when Walmart just starting to spread out, they advertised "Made in America" " I thought I was the only one who remembered that! My, how Walmart went 180 on that one. I remember it well too, they used to have big signs hanging all over the stores advertising merchan...

Re: Looking for a Harness
X2 on the Hunter Safety System. I have an older model but I won't even get in a ladder stand without it. Super easy on and off, has lots of pockets, hooks in the back for dragging and hooks on the sides for footstraps to prevent suspension trauma if you ever do have a fall.

Re: Red dot on a 355
I sighted my 335 in also at 30 yds. Use the hold under n over. Makes fer a great 40 yds, killing machine 100% agree with Mike. My old long-limb Excal has a simple 1X red dot sighted at 30 yards and that zero point has worked great for me. Hold under or over based on yardage. I limit myself to a 40 ...

So sorry to hear this. He sure made some beautiful knives I often admired, and I talked to him about buying some but unfortunately I never did. My sincere condolences to his family.

Re: Interesting CWD Developments
Here is some info from my state (AL) DNR. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/ALDNR/bulletins/236f65d They mention some misinformation spreading via social media, such as soon to be available test kits, vaccines, etc. None of which they say is true. I know where we hunt we are within a 50 mile ...

Re: EBAY Scam
Man thats a bummer you got ripped off. I used to be a power seller on ebay but the seller fees and the general hassle due to non-paying buyers or jerk-offs got to be too much. I'm all for buyer protection but the seller needs protections from unscrupulous buyers too. I've bought insurance out of my ...

Re: OT: I don't like Bourbon
I don't like Bourbon either....I think it's the corn. Love the smokey peaty Scotch's though. Lagavulin and Laphroaig are 2 favs. Some Irish whiskey's are good....I probably like those because they are made from Barley too... Not a big fan of corn whiskey either, I got wrecked too many times and spe...

Re: Styrofoam flight rail
I used leftover high density poly foam packing material, cut into long strips a little bigger than the ID of the rail. Removed the stirrup and packed it in with a wooden dowel. It's easy, it weighs next to nothing, it's reversible, and it seemed to help with the bright hollow 'clink' sound, now its ...

Re: Lighted Nocks , what do you use?
Another vote for Lumenoks here. Mine are a few years old so I don't know if these are the new HD ones but they seem plenty bright to me. Retrieved a couple arrows after pass-throughs that I'm pretty sure I would have lost without a lighted nock.
