I shot a regular and an illuminated bolt back-to-back this morning and they hit the same hole at 20yds. I'll try it further back when I get a chance. But I'm not expecting much of a differential since I'm using the same broadheads.

Re: Sighting in the scope on the Matrix 380
Thanks guys. I was hoping they'd fly relatively the same so I could interchange without having to re-sight.
Guess I have to shoot at targets today. DARN! LOL

Re: Swacker Broadheads
I was fortune enough to find both bolts today and both were pass-through shots. One is entirely reusable and the other has a bent blade. I'm certain that I missed the vitals and shot through the more solid upper rib cage area or the shoulder area. Can't wait till to see what happens with a vital sho...

Re: Sighting in the scope on the Matrix 380
I'm switching from Diablo to illuminated Diablo bolts and using the same 125 grain broadheads. Should I resight my scope or do those bolts fly the same? I'd rather not re-sight with the illuminated Diablos because of their price. I'd hate to screw up a $20 bolt or $10 plastic nock for "practice...

Re: Swacker Broadheads
After further consideration, I rescind my critique of Swhackers until further notice. I think in the heat-of-the-moment I was shooting the crossbow like a rifle & aiming for the shoulder instead of the vitals like you're suppose to with a bolt thrower. I know better than that too! So, I take res...

Re: Swacker Broadheads
I've shot 2 bucks the last 2 outings using a Matrix 380, Diablo bolts, and 2.25" Swhacker BHs. The first one was a short ugly buck standing in tall grass and I shot a tad higher than I would have chosen if he was in the clear. But it was still a good hit because he started dropping a blood trai...

Re: New Matrix 380 owner .. first year deer hunter
Took it back to the shop today and they tuned the string (I don't have a re-stringing tool yet). Shot it at 20 & 30 yards & it's dead on! The wife also shot it dead on at 20yds. She wanted to cock it herself and couldn't. LOL Made me feel manly. =B dur-dur Even quieter now too. I also took o...

Re: New Matrix 380 owner .. first year deer hunter
NFH, thanks for the advice! I hadn't thought of string stretch. I don't have a stringer. But I bought it from our local now shop & they seem pretty good about supporting customers with tuning issues like that. I don't expect I should pay for a tuning issue like that since it's barely a week old....

Re: New Matrix 380 owner .. first year deer hunter
Do any of you guys leave your cocking aid on between hunts? It seems convenient to leave it on so it's not forgotten when heading out. It also takes the string off the suppressor pads, which should help with their longevity. It doesn't seem to pull the string back enough to cause any limb re-shaping...

Re: New Matrix 380 owner .. first year deer hunter
Thanks for the welcomes!
I ordered a Rinehart 18:1 target & a T-handle bolt puller today. Should be here the beginning of next week. Felt like worthy insurance to make the $10 bolts last as long as possible.
Can't wait to shoot it!

New Matrix 380 owner .. first year deer hunter
I took the plunge yesterday & bought my first crossbow: a Matrix 380. I still haven't even shot it! I almost went with an Exocet 200, but I like the scope, grip, anti-dry fire system, suppressor system, and more compact package of the Matrix. I also bought a Morrell Yellow Jacket Supreme Field P...
