Re: Exomax 225 vs Matrix 380
funny you should mention this, sounds like your in the same boat as myself; I am looking at upgrading to a more powerful crossbow as well. I would probably wait a bit and see what is right around the bend, The Exomax you have and the Equinox I shoot are pretty much the same animal, why buy the Matri...

mobile stand vs stationary
I have used the same stands built from 2x6 and lagged to a couple trees with a wooden ladder with aluminium rungs for over two decades; I was wondering how stable are the mobile units? I do like the idea of hunting outside my 120 acre comfort zone, however I really like the stability of my hand buil...

Re: The rope cocker answer
I realize the average person doesn't really care too much about keeping a crossbow looking like a classic car, I get that; The only point of the post is that for 30 bucks for the standard version versus 35 for the Red Hot version I think that the extra five bucks is money well spent. I personally do...

Re: The rope cocker answer
Already killed a five point muley with this bow; I posted this so that somebody may be able to avoid this situation, hindsight is 20/20 we all know that, why not help somebody keep a hard earned investment looking like new? Just because you use an Excalibur Crossbow, doesn't mean you shouldn't use a...

Re: The rope cocker answer
i watched the video think the RHRC may be fine but what I heard at least 4 times was "Scratched my 1,000 bow" when I hunt ..I use a tree stand and I always have to pull mine up with a rope..same with a gun right? I always always end up with little dents and skins here and theres no way ar...

Re: The rope cocker answer
The standard Excalibur rope cocker works just fine. I always ensure the rope is in the groove prior to cocking. Same way I prevent a dry fire. I always ensure I have an arrow properly installed in the rail and seated to the string prior to ever touching the trigger. A person has to be in the right ...

Re: Venison Swiss Steak
sounds like you did your homework, Will try this as I am a red seal chef, and this is quite intriguing, only discrepancy is that you always cut meat AGAINST the grain not with it, other than that, very nice..You could also use a pinch of sugar to counteract the acidity...

Re: Breaking the 400 FPS Barrier
only people in the playing field right now are Excalibur and The Mission MXB 360 and Excalibur is perfecting a 400 fps crossbow. The crossbows weigh the same are priced comparably, but Excalibur shines in simplicity. The outcome may well be worth the wait..

The rope cocker answer
In my previous experience with my Equinox, I had posted a concern that I had with regards to my rail being scratched; Thanks to everyone on the forum it was conclusive that the rope may have fallen off the groove on the stock and over the scope mount. A mere half inch drop, a gouged side rail, live ...

Re: Broadhead Accuracy
The broad heads are all over the board, except for the Carbon Express, have to try the Boltcutters I picked up today, I am shooting the 20 inch firebolts...As I said the fieldpoints are 2 inch groups at fifty yards, so I didn't think of the bolts as being the issue?
