Last hunt of the year

Today I baptized my Matrix 380. I am extremely satisfied. Here is the story: Saturday, December 28, 2013, I was on the ground masked by pine trees, at the bottom of a valley. Around 2:45pm two deer slowly walked across the dry creek to my right, went around a house located West about 200 yards away ...

Re: matrix 380 came today

what for broadheads are you using? i just bought the 150 bolt cutters . i have a lot of G5 100gr but i don't have a target that i can shoot them into yet. I use WASP Boss 100 grain. They are best on my bow and crossbow. When I do my part the deer do not get too far from initial shot position. I thi...

Re: OLDER HUNTERS

I shoot them in such way that they run towards the truck. This way I do not have to drag too much. LOL - I wish it was that easy.

I use the slightly modified (stronger) Allsop Home and Garden Easy Folding Yard Cart. Easy in, easy out, and it stays put folded nicely next to me while I hunt.

Re: Thoughts on deer eyesight and head movement

"If the wind blows in their nose they will smell you no matter what you are wearing or doing to eliminate the human scent. " I know that there are many who believe this to be true, but it's pure baloney in MY experience. The first 3 deer that I killed with a bow, I was standing on the gro...

Re: Equinox arrow speed help... please??

Here is an idea for those who do not have a chronograph but use a scope with internal distance markers. Sight it in at 20 yards and then use the scope magnification adjustment ring until you hit bulls eye at 50 yards. Your crossbow should now be hitting bulls eye at 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 yards using the...

Re: Thoughts on deer eyesight and head movement

Can you use orange camo clothing (black branch like pattern on orange background)? If not then use an orange hat and be done with it. Cover your face and hands with camo fabric and move only when deer looks the other way, or have their heads behind some obstacle, or they move (walk / run). Deer need...

Did you place the limb dampeners with the X inside or outside (forward) on the limb?

Re: Considering Building My Own String

Do you know if the Dyna Flight 97 string and Angel Majesty serving material deteriorate with time if not used? Some plastic fibers loose characteristics over time if stored.

Congratulations. Are you sure you only sprayed the boots with code blue? The picture is blurry as if the camera lens was smudged with it too. LOL

Re: How to quiet down the Matrix 380 ...

An update on the speed measurement: - using a friends' chrony I get on high 364 fps, on low 348 fps with and average after 9 shots of 352 fps. Most shots stayed within 354 fps to 350 fps range. - used his lightning system on my chrony and I get the same results +/- 2 fps It turns out that you need g...

Re: How to quiet down the Matrix 380 ...

The brace height was measured from the separation line where the riser meets the stock to the edge of the string closest to said line. Now you got me thinking about measured speed. I ordered another chronograph to compare and confirm initial results since it could be a defective chrony but I have no...

Re: How to quiet down the Matrix 380 ...

I used a ProChrony before and after on an outdoor setting no wind, 34F. I am using a 24 strands Flemish string build by Danny Miller. I am waiting on a string from Boo. I played with brace height, limb dampeners position and spine / weight matched bolts. On high I got 377fps while the total average ...
