Dry-fired my Axiom

Me and my son were target shooting last night, and i was adjusting my scope and talking, and when I shot, it sounded funny. My son said dad, you forgot to put your arrow on. Looked it over and I couldn't see any cracks or damage, cocked it and looked it over again, nothing. Shot it and kept adjustin...

Re: Human Scents scares deer - old wives tale???

I keep my hunting cloths in a big plastic tub with cedar limbs in the bottom year around. No telling how old some of my hunting clothes are, they've been in there for years. I wash them once a year in scent free soap and they still smell like cedar when they come out of the wash and I take my clothe...

Re: Anyone have this happen?/ Broken scope

I'd like to say that Excalibur/Draves archery went above and beyond and replaced my scope with a better scope. I was just hoping they would fix my broken one since I have no knowledge whatsoever with scopes. Wasn't expecting a new one. Also, they were much faster shipping it back to me than I was in...

Anyone have this happen?/ Broken scope

I pulled out my Axiom yesterday and took my first practice shot of the year, and the whole windage aparatus fell completely out of my scope. The bow has never been banged and is kept in a gun safe. It's not just the cap but the whole aparatus that the cap screws into where you can see inside the sco...

Re: Longest Service...

That is one of the reason I went with an Excalibur, they can last forever or the warranty is so good, you can get it fixed and keep them going.

Re: Who else is shooting an old school Excalibur?

This is my first year with my Excalibur Axiom.
What is the difference between the older models and say the Axiom? The Axiom doesn't seem as "refined" as some of the newer faster models.

Axiom after 1 year

Bought my Axiom almost a year ago. I'd have to say I love this thing! Did a little fine tweaking with the scope and what a joy it is to shoot. For people that are on the fence about Excalibur crossbows, don't overlook even the cheaper basic packages. Unfortunately, I have only shot it at targets. Th...

Re: User error = dry fire. Up-Dated.

Hate to hear that. I was just about brave enough to try to decock mine with the cocking aid. That is the only thing I do not like about my Excalibur compared to my old Horton Yukon. On my Horton, I would put my stirrup on the ground and put my foot in the stirrup and grab the string on both sides an...

Re: Boltcutter Broadheads

I have been using the same Wasp broadheads since 1984 when I got my first foxfire crossbow.! I'm old school and grew up watching Fred Bear and back then, you kept the same broadhead and kept them and maintained them., filed down and kept them sharp. I also had bought extra blades and such and have h...

Re: Feedr time?

I would like to try a timed feeder. I quit the gravity feeders after watching a button buck wipe out all of my corn. The last few years, I have only used 2 or 3 bags of corn at most and it has lasted me from Sept. until the last of Feb. I have a couple of small coffee cans and I have added a carbine...

Axiom sight in question

I bought the Axiom package at the end of last season, everything is stock on it and I'm shooting the arrows and practice tips that came with the package. I've never practiced further than 20 yards. It's dead on at 20 yards. Yesterday I decided to try some shooting out at 30 yards and using the line ...

Re: Mineral sites.

I'll tell you something the mineral companies wouldn't want you to know about. Kool Aid! Mix you up a big Jug of Kool Aid and pour it in a spot to get your mineral site established. Then just keep adding some more packs of Kool Aid dry on top of that as needed or you can keep mixing it in a jug and ...

Re: Broadhead options for stock Axiom

Right now, I'm shooting the bolts and field points that came with the package, I think they are called Firebolts? I'm sticking with the bolts and will probably get some bolt cutter broadheads. I just haven't come across any in person yet to buy them and was holding off on ordering any online.

Broadhead options for stock Axiom

I was hoping to look at the boltcutter broadheads in person, but the Bass Pro Shop I go to doesn't have them, or any 150 grain broadheads for that matter. Not sure if it is just because of the season or what. I'll probably order some bolt cutters online I bought my Axiom at the end of last season an...

Unstringing

I picked up my Axiom at the end of deer season last year. Got to hunt with it a few times, but still a rookie with it. I've done a lot of recurve and longbow vertical hunting and I've always kept those unstrung so I decided that I'm going to shoot mine a few more times and then unstring her for the ...
