Thanks for all the info guys. I think that I will try the spray for the moment, and look at getting some of the rynoskins as soon as I can. Praying for a little cool weather. It won't be too far off.

L.L. Bean products can only be purchased directily from the company. You can find their website at www.llbean.com They will send you a catalog, then another catalog, and another etc. once you get on their list. It's good expensive stuff, but it's kind of like planting zuchinnis. Once you do, you wil...

Wabi,
The biggest problem with chiggers is that they walk right through the mesh on bug suits. They are smaller than NO-SEEUMS. You actually can not see them unless you get a magnifying glass out and look carefully for them. I can't understand how something that small can make you so uncomforable.

Good idea! I have often wondered what some of you look like. Kinda like trying to put a face to a radio personality. Course it can be disappointing at times

Chiggers are miniscule blood sucking mites that burrow into your skin and cause intense itching and misery. They tend to congregate in areas where your clothing is tight or where you perspire more, like the elastic in your socks, backs of your knees and waist band, not to mention the unmentionable a...

For all you southern guys who may have more experience than me. What can I do to stop the plague of chiggers in this early part of the season, without spooking deer from the smell of insect repellent? I was out scouting the other day. Our weather is still very warm-- mid 80's and the chiggers are st...

photo posting

If I try to post from the host site in a larger version, the URL changes to something that is no longer jpeg and it wo...

Hoss, I know that I am a little out of step (no pun intended) with all of the modern technological advances in stuff, but I have always liked the LL Bean hunting shoes. They have been around for a hundred years, but I don't think they can be beat. They are light weight, waterproof and comforta...

ImageThis is one tough Pup. She took on a full grown Racoon in the back yard one night, and won. Not a scratch, but the coon has not returned. I walk softly around her now.

Get the skin off as soon as possible. This will do more to cool the meat than anything. I once saw an elk that was gutted and hung, but hide left on overnight. the temp was 15 degrees. a cotton bag was slung around the carcass. The next morning when the bag was removed, the carcass was still steamin...

Order Problems Slicks

I ordered a package of Slick Tricks about a month ago, knowing that they were going to be back ordered. I ordered early enough (I thought) to get them before opening day so that I could give them some testing. I have been put off three times now. They keep setting back the availability date. I start...
