I really do feel for you guys! I get hunting shows on two channels (cable) year round. The Outdoor Channel and Outdoor Life Network. Tuesday nights it's four hours block of nothing but hunting. They mix in fishing, 4wheel and dirt bikes etc. other times of the week. It's great to have, but until Oct...

5" vs. 4"
I fletched a few arrows with 4" vanes and then some with 5". The arrow setup was the same otherwise. I can't tell the difference in performance. Is one preferable over the other and if so, why?

I had a Horton Steel Force crossbow for a short time. I found that I could use the same method of changing string as with Excalibur, but it was extremely difficult due to the short limbs, but it was possible. I had to wear a pair of leather gloves as the limb wasn't wide enough or long enough to get...

That is one of the main reasons that I bought and Excalibur. With a recurve limb, I can change strings in about 30 seconds without any hassle, and no tools. I have never had to go through what you have with the compound. My advise would be to take it to a bow shop, have them change the string, and t...

Prayers for a safe and enjoyable trip! I was up there for two weeks back in 1984. It is unbelievable country. My brother lives in Fairbanks. Once the winter sets in, I am glad to live where I do now. I'm getting too old for that much cold. Post some pictures when you get back. We'll all be looking f...

Laser II inserts?
The lasers that I got have brass inserts in the front. I haven't weighed them, but they are quite a bit heavier than aluminum inserts of the same size. Does anyone use aluminum, and if so which do you prefer? Does it change the flight of the arrow?

Many years ago, I was hunting in the prairie country of south central Wyoming for Mule deer. I worked up to a nice 3X3 meat buck on the edge of a deep gully. Shooting my faithful old 30-30 I hit him good, I thought. He jumped down into the gully, and then came roaring out on the other side. I hit hi...
