Re: Excalibur Scopes

I have a varizone scope on my Vortex and it has been just great so far. I have not seen any negative reviews on this site yet.

Re: That scope is a target killer, Leupold VXR Hog Plex Reti

Wow!!! I spend some time each fall at the local shooting range adjusting rifles and giving tips to shooters on how to improve their shooting. Very very few of them can shoot as accurately and consistently as "tremps" with his crossbow. I'm talking about the same distances too.

Re: Decent binoculars

Well.....I finally bought new binoculars. I finally ended up with a pair of Bushnell H2O 8 X 42 that were on liquidation for 60 dollars. They are a bit on the heavy side, a bit stiff to adjust but they are stable, clear vision, good in low light and cheap enough for someone with a small budget like ...

Re: Decent binoculars

The cheapest Vortex binoculars (8x32) I could find in my area were over 220 dollars plus 15% sales tax. I did find some Simmons 8x42 binoculars for 80 dollars and a 30 dollar rebate but there is not much info on the internet about these binoculars. So far.....no Leupolds available in my region.........

Re: Decent binoculars

I was hoping to find compact binoculars but when you get down to it, regular sized binoculars are not that much larger or heavier and for one thing sure, they are a lot clearer which is ideal for hunting situations. Here in Quebec, the woods are dark, moose are dark and it's often very early morning...

Decent binoculars

I need a decent pair of compact binoculars for hunting. However, for less than 100 dollars. What do you recommend? I was thinking that 8X would be about right. Of course.....there are fewer choices here in Canada but I'm stuck here in N. Quebec. Here the only choices I have are 20 dollar binoculars ...

It's a cheap wooden chest made in China. You can buy them in many stores similar to Dollarama for a few dollars. Send it to me....I will pay shipping and give you a nice 10 dollar bill. The closest Dollarama store in my region is a good 15 minutes drive.

Re: Danny Miller's Arra Puller!

I have one but it is not mine but I am thinking of buying it. It was sent to me by mistake. What is the small tube of wax that comes with the arrow puller for? Do I apply the wax to the inside of the puller jaws to help the puller grab the arrow shaft?

Re: 2nd Tom down with 1980's model Excalibur Relayer

Every time I see a photo of someone with a turkey, I just can't help but look at the wing feathers. Did you know that paired wing feathers cost about 5 to 10 dollars per pair when it comes to fly tying? The most famous fly is the Muddler Minnow and you need a small portion from a pair of turkey wing...

Suddenly, one day, there will be way too many of them and they will all die off due to some weird disease.

Re: Small diameter strings?

The new fishing lines on the market are very strong. However, they are very weak when it comes to shock tests due to the fact that they have next to zero stretch. Maybe if you twisted a bunch of fishing line, you could make a decent string. I wouldn't try it myself....I would be to worried about str...

One thing for sure.....nothing is perfect. I have seen lots of people who had their hunting season ruined for all sorts of reasons ranging from broken firearms, very bad weather, sickness, accidents, etc.
