Re: OT: Big Bear Down
Wow....beautiful beast. Where I hunt moose, we have bear problems every year. Almost every one in the area shoot the bears and leave them to rot. Great waste of meat and fur. There is always someone who is willing to buy the fur. My son and I are going to target bears next year and keep the meat. Wh...

Re: Which cheek pad is which?
The one with 2 screws is for the Grizzly and the Cub. The one that snaps on is for the other crossbows. None seem to be adjustable. I just bought an adjustable cheek riser for my rifle and I will probably have to make one for my crossbow. I may make one out of Kydex.

I think that even the date of your homepage affects the list on the left hand side of the page. Right now, I can see Vortex, Exomax, Vixen II etc.

Re: Texas feral hogs apocalypse fears
The government should consider subsidizing hog hunting, lengthening the hunting season, increasing limits, etc. Subsidizing hog hunting will create more employment and increase tourism. I wouldn't mind going feral hog hunting if I knew that it would not cost a fortune. It's going to cost me some mon...

Re: Why does most justify a crossbow with an injury??
Well....my situation was completely different. In my day, crossbows were considered firearms so might as well buy a firearm and get it over with. Eventually, archery became more popular and there was even a season for those that just used archery equipment. I was working during that era and didn't h...

DEET in various strengths. Stronger percentages of deet last longer but there are concerns about the body absorbing toxins. Head nets, gloves, closing all openings etc are among other possibilities

Re: Dr. Sturup DB Killer Etc.
Everything is working fine for me now. I'm 70 yrs old and in a few years, the 200 lb 16 1/2 inch draw will be too much for me and I will most definately buy a rope cocker from Dr. Stirrup and maybe even one of his stirrups. The cranking system will be the last item on my list.

Re: Dr. Sturup DB Killer Etc.
A more stable stirrup is a good idea but the extra 1/2 lb at the front of my crossbow is a bit of a problem. For those who hunt from stands, the extra weight is no problem. Maybe someday, someone will invent a stirrup that can be carried in a pocket. It's not something that is used more than a coupl...

Re: Dr. Sturup DB Killer Etc.
Wow.....I looked at the videos and was amazed. The cocking rope is the thing that interests me the most. I am of shorter stature so I had to adjust my cocking rope and I have to pull on my string quite a bit to hook my rope cocker. This makes it difficult for an even pull on both limbs. I almost ha...
