I haven't had experience with a spine shot, but last year, I got both lungs, heart and broke the deers offside shoulder, (slightly quartering away), deer dropped on the spot. I would not be worried about a spine shot if that was the only shot oppourunity available.

Thanks guys, I think I am going to either stick with the Spitfires or go to the Slick Tricks. How easy are the Slick Tricks to order? Good results? I have shot Spitfire 2-Blades, but they do not make them anymore so I will have to buy the 3-Blade versions now. I may just stick with mechanicals becau...

Mechanicals vs. Fixed

Who shoots what and some imput please. I shoot the NAP Spitfires 100gr, but would maybe like to switch to a fixed blade broadhead this year. I was just wondering what everybody was shooting and what fixed blade broadheads seem to shoot like field points? Thanks, Peter.

Cooey 71

I know its not crossbow related, but does anyone know any information on the Winchester-Cooey Model 71. I have been told it is just like the plain jane Winchester Model 70, but I do not know whether it is the Pre64 or the Post64 version. My friend and I have come to the conclusion that it is maybe t...

I'm in my first year out of high school, and am doing a Farm Equipment Technician apprenticship, (fancy words for farm mechanic). In the meantime I am also the tire guy at work, going out on service calls fixing tires in the field... then come October, i'm a HUNTER!

I think she has gone too far... if someone wrote something about her "lifestyle" she'd be up in arms. So how about she doesn't write about something she knows nothing about... and giggling because someone was shot?!?!?

I used a Spitfire 100gr this year on my deer, HEART, DOUBLE LUNG & BROKE ITS SHOULDER! Before the season I was a little bit sceptical about the mechanical broadheads because of the Excalibur video and hearing things from other people that because of a crossbows rapid acceleration that there was ...

FIRST CROSSBOW KILL!!!

Haven't been on here in a long time, i've just been sooo busy with work and everything that I just haven't found the time to get on here and tell everyone the good news! On Wednesday October 5th (five days into the season!!!) I shot a 5-pointer. It was just about getting dark, and I had realized tha...

I cock mine at the house, leave the bolt out and then head to the field. It stays cocked until I get down out of my tree, so I don't think it affects accuracy at all... then again it is an EXCALIBUR...

Thanks Tar Heel, I was just a little sceptical about mechanicals in crossbows, because even on the Excal video they say that they don't recomend them because of the rapid acceleration. But since my other broadheads don't group well I think I am going to be using the Shockwaves this year!

I've learned one thing... DON'T CHEAP OUT ON YOUR BROADHEADS!!! Instead of buying good quality ones I bought the Eastman Titanium 100gr broadheads. Same idea as the SlickTricks, or the NAP Crossfires, (small compact fixed-blades) but they do not group worth a s***! So now I don't know what to do wit...
