Just a question about these feeders i.e the 4" pipe -- any problems with the corn bridging and thus not falling down due to the temperature variation?
Do you feed all winter or is this just a fall time feeding program? I assume that whole corn is used over cracked?

Re: Winter camping in a canvas tent.
Pyd: Bought one a few years ago for moose hunting. Have had great experiences in it and enjoy it very much. I see that you have the metal pole frame for it. I started out without the poles and used tree poles that I cut on site. Saved them from year to year. Once purchased the poles , it is so much ...

Re: Hunting chairs
I have remodeled a normal folding metal chair. I lowered the chair seat to make it more suitable for a lower profile. The back legs were one tubular piece that went from side to side.I cut this tube section off leaving enough to reattach after shortening the leg portion coming from the seat. Reinsta...

Re: Deer rifles
I echo TPM's remarks regarding shot placement. That was a mainstay in Jack O'Connors writings in Outdoor Life. He was a strong advocate of the 270. I purchased a Browning BAR 270 in 1976. It has been a great rifle taking moose and deer. For a number of years I hunted in Cedar swamps for deer. The ra...

What the nonhunter really thinks
I have experienced the same reaction as you Grizz. Most non hunters seem relieved when they learn that the animal is to be used in its entirety. The "trophy" concept is the main perception that they have of hunters. I think that this concept is derived out of the general talk of hunters wh...

Fortunately I have not had that experience and by the testimonials on the subject I am not envious. However, your misfortune with story and picture are much appreciated in reminding all of the pain.
