Re: OT: Fresh meat
Good job buddy. I too braved the heat yesterday and was drenched in sweat across the river in md. Maryland opened archery season yesterday. It may have been the heat, or just wanted to see how my new zombies and slick tricks worked out but I shot a small 6 pt buck last night. Double lunged him, mass...

Re: Lining up fletching with broadhead blades
I friend of mine tunes every braodheads on his arrows. I don't, I just tighten and let em ripe. I shoot both crossbows and verticle bows. My friend shoots only verticle and I'm just as good as he is. If tuning does help, I can't tell. I've used rage, muzzys, slick tricks, nap, boltcutters and a few ...

Re: Bolt or Arrow?
I use the term arrow. Not all that many years ago very few state or province game departments allowed crossbows to be used in archery seasons and it was always a heated discussion when people suggested they should be included. The anti-crossbow faction often made the point, "Crossbows don't sh...

Re: Bolt or Arrow?
I call them bolts usually but sometimes arrows. Who cares? To me a bolt is just a word describing a short arrow fired from a crossbow. It's just a word that has been generalized to also include modern xbow projectiles aka short arrows

Zombie Slayers are damaged
First and foremost thank you forum members for all your bolt recommendations!!!! Went out today to shoot my new zombies (20" factory fletched). Was switching from diablos. Took about 5-6 shots and I was sighted in at 30 Yrds. Went to the 50 yrd line and figured if I aimed at the same spot twice...

Re: New zombie convert
Thanks guys. Anyone know what diameter washers would fit if I got the 5 grain brass washers from 3 rivers archery using my new zombies with 100 grain magnum slick tricks? I've BTDT. You're getting in 'too deep', lol. The weight[s] of a washer, 5 gr weights, ect aren't going to do much if anything t...

Dan's the man!! I wax my string and lightly wax my serving. Works well for me. I think Danny says not to wax it bc if you overdo it ,you could get wax in the trigger mechanism but I've never had a problem.

New zombie convert
I finally took the plunge!! Waited and waited then finally did it. Quick question before I bring them to the range. How much do the plastic flat nocks that come with them weigh? Also anyone know how much slick trick washers weigh?

Re: Matrix 355
350 grain is the minimum. Any lighter and you risk damage to your limbs (and yourself) because you are essentially dry firing your xbow. I shoot 422 grain bolts from my 380 and get 346 fps. Arrow drop is minimal and at that speed I don't worry about game reacting to my shot. In fact my vortex shot 3...

Re: X-Pack
Welcome to crossbow hunting. I agree that a rope would be your best choice of lifting your xbow to stand. Just make sure the bolt is removed first. I tie it through the thumb hole. Sometimes when I lower it to the ground my matrix has the tendency to want to lay down on the ground with scope facing ...

I'm in!!
What a great contest for the forum members. Thank you from ALL OF US. Your call looks nice and I've heard great things about them but haven't had the chance to hear one yet. Who knows, maybe I will soon.
