Re: Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
just a short update. i'm fairly certain any issues i've had are due to brush strikes or lack of follow through. that being said, i did do a couple of cocked bow vs time checks. both checks were done at 3 hours vs freshly cocked. first time, didn't have a chrony, but just fired the bow at a target 40...

Re: Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
i shoot from a rest when target shooting.... i use a firm forearm grip because i know this bow can buck if it's left to move freely. while hunting, i try to maintain firm shoulder and forearm pressure to prevent issues.

Re: Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
yep... we're all on the same page here... i shoot to go through the most vitals i can... adjusting angles etc.
we'll see when i do a few more tests.... otherwise sure it's gotta be brain fart.

Re: Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
yep all materials are hunting materials.
coffee... hmmm
i do intend to do an elevated test too...but unlike regular bows... that really shouldn't be the issue here.

Re: Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
yep, sighting with the actual heads to be used. point of aim midline behind knee/elbow to get lung (i don't aim low for heart because of higher chance of miss and slimmer angle from elevated stand). Elevated stand. Follow through is an option on this. I'll have to pay attention to that and see if i ...

Another Cocked Bow/Time concern
This year, i've had two bad hits on deer. Both were muscle shots..guessing either high or low from poa from what i've seen in the blood/hair. (don't know actual point of impact). I always blame the indian, and not the arrow... but in this case... after two, decently concetrated and aimed shots...i'm...

Re: rage 2-blade open on launch from 380
actually i did contact them. They are recommending switching to their hypodermic heads as they are supposed to be up for the strongest bows. I know what everyone is saying here.... I just really had liked what rages do and the wound channels they make. I've got a bucket of slick tricks for now... wh...

rage 2-blade open on launch from 380
Not interested in the standard flame war. Check to see if others have had a similar situation to mine. This year, had two x-bow Rage broadheads open on launch from my 380. Blades were locked in properly aligned collar. First one missed a deer at 30 yds. Scarred the stirrup on launch. Second one open...

Re: DrStirrup
never would have occurred to me as i normally decock by shooting a ft arrow into a target back at camp
was going to switch methods this year... and this gives me something to be cognizant of.

Re: DrStirrup
I've got to ask since I've seen this listed in a few posts about the stirrup.
When people talk about not putting an arrow in their foot while it's in the stirrup...what are they doing? Or do they mean people forgot to remove the arrow before manually decocking the bow?

Re: Problems Dialing in Lumenoks
another discussion this afternoon seems to have helped resolve the issue. nothing wrong with arrows or bow. I had been shooting the bow from my rest like i would sight in a rifle. front end free, secure at the rear. well....crossbows ain't rifles... arrows are too slow to clear the bow before it sta...

Re: Problems Dialing in Lumenoks
current order of checking things out... test my old standard arrows to see if i have fliers. then, start checking every bolt and fastener on the bow. even thinking swap scopes (don't know how many rifle scopes that have lead me to pull my hair out just to find out they went out of whack). on the squ...

Re: Problems Dialing in Lumenoks
k, cool. i actually just watched their vid on backing out the nock and realized i've got the same arrow puller they show...so i should be able to back mine out that way

Re: Problems Dialing in Lumenoks
I thought i had squared my arrows...but I can check that again. What's the logic behind that being the issue? basically on the initial launch smack of the string seating them, they don't hit the butt of the shaft square and start on oscillation or push? As to the comment about shutting them off with...

Problems Dialing in Lumenoks
I have to examine a bunch of things to check my M380's setup as i'm getting fliers. I think the fliers are coming in with me trying to run lumenoks instead of aluminum nocks...but at this point, i'm keeping my eyes open for anything that might be giving me grief. After shooting some 18" BEEs ne...
