Re: New String
Stretch (elasticity) is definitely the caused by the material. But the bulk of the initial string creep (permanent elongation) is caused by the wax that the manufacturers blend into the strands. A well made endless loop string will creep less than an equally made Flemish string. I agree 100%, to th...

Re: Crossbow vs.Compound Bow.
I still shoot my longbows, recurves and compounds. I always wanted to try a crossbow. After I bought a axiom I became hooked. I have 3 excaliburs now and everyone is fun to shoot.

Re: Foc vs length,weight
I agree with the use of heavy arrows as well. I shoot a 20" BEE at 440 grain from my 355 matrix. Two weeks ago I took a 168lb 8 pt. At 32 yards all I had was a quartering towards me shot. I put the arrow between the neck and shoulder and it exited in the opposite groin area. This was with a 1 3...

Re: Matrix 355 FPS stock
From my understanding..... and I might be wrong.....but it comes down to the finished weight of a given string.. A thick heavy string will weigh more physically and have more drag on the rail whereas a thinner string weighs less and probably has less drag on the rail making it faster. That's my int...

Re: Best Scope
Gene, I just put a crossbones on my 355 and compared to the Nikon its the cats meow. I shoot a fairly heavy bolt, after shooting through the chrono I set the speed ring and presto arrows on target from 10 to 60 yards. Sharpness, and light gathering abilities are about the same between the two.

Re: ?speed?
im new to crossbow, but not archery or hunting by any means. and shot placement is key for sure and speed isnt everything but at the begininig of this thread we were talking speed vrs energy. But the formula for getting the ke has been stated to be speed x speed x weight / 450240. so how can you ta...

Re: Factory Trigger Mod
Shadytree, Nice work with great pics. I agree that crossbow triggers are the air of simplicity. It doesn't take a degree in quantum physics to rework one to a better degree of function. The shade tree mechanics and basement machinists of the world are the true innovators of many product refinements....

Re: Matrix 330 review
Nice review, I have the same two bows with Nikons and get almost identical speeds. I make my own strings from BCY X and have zero creep issues.

Re: Excalibur buy-out by Bowtech
I have owned several bows by bowtech ( still do) and I have never had a problem with parts, service or any of their products. They make one of the best bows on the market and continue to bring more innovation to the industry then a lot of their competition. I believe a lot of good will come out of t...

Re: matrix 330 arrow length
Yup, I shoot 20" BEE's with 110 inserts and 100 grain heads. Total weight is 440. Setup shoots amazingly tight out to 50 yards. I tried goldtips for a while but found them to be a tad inconsistent.Riflemanz wrote:Has anyone tried a 20" arrow out of the 330?

Re: String creep
There is much better material to make strings with other then D-97. I too got tired of string creep on the stock strings. I started making strings from BCY X and have had much better results. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

How were the crowds? the off season isn't too bad for shotgun or anything archery. The rifle range is a whole different ball of wax. - Denis

Re: Arrow Building and Some Queries
Anthony, Strange as it my sound, storing your EZ Fletch with a short piece of 2219 in it helps. I use fletch tite to make all my arrows ( since the early 80's) one thing I have found is this glue is MEK based and if you buy the pint cans and dispense with a glue bottle it is best to empty the bottle...

Re: Knockoff FOC's
NAP looks to be one of those companies that designs something new, makes it domestically for a couple of years and once the design is proven/established they move the production off shore.
