Re: Awshucks, Memorial Service
I don't drink liquor but I think I will take my Y25 out and sling some arrows in his memory.

Re: Short eye relief scope
You are so right. I 've had to put some kind of pad or riser on every crossbow stock trying to get a good sight picture. Even with the Excal cheekrest installed it takes some tinkering to get a decent cheek weld.

Re: Short eye relief scope
Yeah on my Micro the Nikon scope fits perfectly. But on my Matrix other scopes had to be hanging way off the front end of the base just to get a full view. Right now I use an older Horton Hawke on the Matrix that works well but I'm always thinking of upgrades.

Short eye relief scope
Why do so many crossbow scopes have such long eye relief? A shorter eye relief scope would be easier to mount on the short bases that Xbows have. Plus it would put the balance point further back ; improving the handling. Which almost all bows need with the horrible thin plastic appendages they call ...

How many made
Just wondering how many bows does Excal. makes every year? How many have been made after 30+ years of excellence? Any educated guesses?

Re: NO TAG AGAIN !!!!!
I guess I finally have something to be happy about living in western NY. I can legally shoot 5 deer this season. No lottery just buy the tags. Only one has to be a buck. The most I have gotten is 2. My brother usually gets 3. I need to get out in the woods more. Can't shoot what you don't see.

Re: Newbie with questions
Hey, where in the Empire State are you located? I live in Rochester (western NY). Hopefully the 200 lb. limit will be lifted soon; that is what the New York Crossbow Coalition is working on. Also, you should become a member so we can win the fight for full inclusion in the bow season. Not just the l...

Re: 380 stock play or up and down movement
Dang!; I thought it was called the frame. SMF stands for synthetic main frame. Next we can debate if we shoot arrows, bolts or quills.

Re: Micro 335 VS Matrix 355
I own both and it is a hard choice some days. But my Micro (get the black, a nicer finish) is my primary hunting bow and the 355 is my target shooter and back-up if need be. I was lucky enough to find laminated wood stocks for my bows(don't care for plastic). A flemish string and Excal. Brake Pads (...

Re: Scope Decision Time
The Nikon Bolt is my favorite scope. Just the right size on a crossbow and the optics are top notch. I tried a Hawke and switched back to the Nikon. Smaller scope but a better view.

Re: Rope Cocker
You know just last week I was pondering that same idea. The single pulley cuts the load by 50% so a double pulley would probably drop it to 25% of draw weight. If you could figure out how to build a miniature block and tackle strong enough to handle the work load that would be way cool. It could eli...

Re: New Micro Owner, string advice
The factory trigger is very good but if you want the best a triggertech is the way to go. I do not own one but have shot one and it is awesome. A nice custom made flemish string is a fine way to dress up your bow and make it a smoother shooter. There are a number of great string makers on this forum...

Re: New Micro
I have shot 15, 17, 18 and 20 inch arrows out of my Micro and never saw any difference in accuracy. Of course the POI might be higher or lower depending on arrow weight but still dead nuts accurate. Like every other Excalibur i have owned. I plan on getting 16.5 arrows made up with a 110 brass inser...

Re: Woody's -Excalibur Warranty Station
Last year I fell with my crossbow and damaged the trigger; you fixed it and got it back to me in a week. And the trigger works better than ever. Thanks so much.

Re: Deer and tomatoes
Hey some other options in the scent category would be dog hair from a groomer tied in little bags and hung around the garden. Or as a last resort; since deer pee to mark their territory you could do the same. Just take a midnight stroll after the neighbors are asleep and kill two birds with one ston...
