Re: 10 pointer down
I missed this one earlier as well; congrats. I was lucky enough to get the smallest buck that I could legally take in the antler restricted area that I hunt in NY. I felt like a kid - very happy to get a deer or any other deer that I can get. This year, the bigger ones eluded me, so I guess accordin...

Re: 2016 Late Archery Season
Great article. Better than reading something from Field & Stream or some other outdoors magazine. Loved the pictures which brought it all together.
Don't know how I missed this a few weeks ago, anyway congrats and thanks for taking the time to post this.

Re: Crossbow scope what one
I think after trying so many the best for me anyways are the Hawke Scopes, hands down! The XB-30 Pro SR is without doubt one tough scope that will take a beating in almost 3 years never changed it's zero, the speed ring (zoom) will dial the scope in spit on for any bow at any speed, and can be used...

Re: Why did you buy an X-bow?
3 years ago NY state finally smartened up and allowed Xbows for 2 weeks at the end of regular bow season. I liked the idea of upping my odds of killing a deer during the bow season. I do not shoot any further, 40 yards is my limit; and all my shots so far have been 20 yards or less. I'm 4 for 4 over...

Re: How Do You Store Your Xbow?
Put 2 nails in an open beam stud in the ceiling of my basement at distance equal to the inside of the stirrup. This is in the corner of my hunting room. I take the string off and hang up for the 9 months when it's not hunting season. I use small bungees on each side to make sure it does not come off...

Re: C-2 Crank
What Sew said. I always keep the brake off the C2 when I am cocking so I can hear the trigger engage. The clicking sound of the brake makes it hard for me to hear this happen, so I do it on silent mode. I do find using the brake helpful however when using the stringer adjustment, since I can stop th...

Re: Recovery Rates With Crossbow
In the 3 years of crossbow, 4 deer hit, 3 went approx. 80 yards; one about 10 yards. All shots 20 yards or less. Easy blood trail and recovery for all.
Did I ever say that I love my crossbow?

Re: Heated Insoles
The artic shield boot blankets (the real puffy ones) paired with the chemical hand/foot warmers put inside a good pair of insulated boots works better than anything for me. It's good to have boots that are a little loose as the heat packs need oxygen to work.

Re: Heated Insoles
Do not buy Thermacell. I am returning mine to Cabelas after testing them. Run time is about 2 hours and the heating element is located at the ball of your feet, which is not good as you need the heat nearer to your toes.
