Check the video of the stringing aid use, and pay special attention to the loop and where it is in relation to the scope. Shorten it to match the video - it worked for me. Same with the cocking aid.

I have successfully used a metal detector to find my buried arrows. The carbon are really tough, because you must find the tips. The aluminum arrows I find perhaps 95% of the time.
